gazyapp
Hi all, I bought a Winchester pump action at the midland game fair today...... It was an impulse buy for £150. The barrel is a multichoke but at 28" plus the action it's rather long (I'm only 5'6) I wanted to know wether it's possible to get it cut down to say 26/25 inch and have it choked at half as I don't need it any tighter Thanks for looking
Paul223
It would be cheaper to buy what you want than convert what you have bought
gazyapp
Is it really that expensive to have a barrel cut down?!?!
bicykillgaz
You won't have any choke at all when you've cut 2-3" off it, you would probably have to have it machined to take chokes again. I would think it would cost nearly as much as the gun.

Scully
Mate has just had this done this very week by Teague to his tight choked auto.A fantastic job but it wasn't cheap.Basic slimline flush fitting chokes are a work of art and at 28 quid apiece plus VAT aren't badly priced, but there's all the other work entailed plus transfer charges. Even if your RFD could do it in house I still think costs would exceed the value of your gun unless you went for a simple chop and were happy shooting cylinder. gazyapp
Ok, thanks for the replys, I think I'll just use it as is until I can afford a shorter one.
HDAV
Better off searching for a shorter barrel with fixed choke round 1/4 to have it chopped and cut requires a reproof prices are on teague website

HDAV
best bet is try a wanted add here and email your local (and not so local) dealers to see if someone has one knocking around in the workshop also worth keeping an eye out at holts and any other auctions.
