A Brace before 10 pm

I had seen a fox on my trail camera the other week and decided to let it be for a while…

With such a dark night it was worth a look, I pitched up by a telegraph pole looking towards a wooded area and called using my reed caller.

The classic “its behind you” was close as I flicked the lamp to my left to see a fox around 30 yards from me and one out around 150 yards.

I have learnt from my cost the second fox will see the lamp and here the bang, so I hissed at the close on and it scarped up the hill out of sight.

The second one moved a few yards but not enough!! I upped sticks and walked scanning for the eyes.

He was a bit twitchy and run to the edge of the wood then took his last look for his mate…
