mad1
Hi all ... The battery on my defender is not holding it's charge ( it's at least 5+ year old ) Can you recommend me a decent battery or where to get one from ? Many thanks M1
landy george
Get the biggest that will fit in the seat box. 1000cc (cold cranking amp's) would be a sizes to go for. Optima red top are good, had mine 7 years & still as good as new but there not cheap. If you want it to start every morning don't go cheap. four-wheel-drive
I always think its best to get the biggest one that will fit on the tray may cost a bit more but in the long run it will last you longer.
RED BEARD
As said always get the biggest that will fit, mine is the same size as what they fit on jcb 3cx's.insulating is a very good idea too,as a land rover is a very cold and tinny vehicle, thing I'm going to lag my battery box with celetex before the "big freeze"

NIGHT SEARCHER
Have a look at Euro car parts they are very good on price. I got a massive one of them 2 x handle jobie. It just fitted in the battery tray. That`s 3 years ago now £45.

Big Mat
The battery that is in my defender is one from a tractor i believe, previous owner went down to the local agri place and said he needed a battery, he was a farmer after all Its been in there 10 years and still going strong!
