Euget123
Hello guys Recently got my shotgun license through I live in northern ireland My permission to shot was through a clay pigeon club. Problem is the condition on my fac state "clay pigeon shooting only on approved ground" I am told this is not the norm. My question is if i was to go shooting on a payed day say pheasent or the like would this be technically outside of the conditions on my fac Thanks
robbiep
If a FAC has conditions, then you may only shoot within those conditions. There is no 'technically', or anything else. Shoot any live quarry, or any clays away from an approved clay ground, and you risk losing your gun and your FAC
Cannon
This means you can only shoot your shotgun at approved clay grounds. Discharging your shotgun anywhere other than an approved clay shooting ground would be a breach of your conditions. As mentioned above, you would probably lose your certificate if caught by the police.
12boreblue
Sorry am I understanding this properly, you applied for a shotgun certificate, not a firearms certificate? I was of the opinion that a SGC had no 'specific' conditions on it. You should be able to go game, pigeon, rabbit, vermin and clay without breaching any 'conditions' other than the general ones. So can you explain further as to why you have this condition? Is the shotgun a firearm? Or does N Ireland have different legislation? A more detailed explanation migtht help. David BASC
Yes, NI legislation is different - all are FAC David
