stuey
Are apples any good for encouraging / supplementing pheasant and duck feeding??? Neighbours orchard has loads of windfall and he said i can take what I want including what's on the trees too. Thought they might be of use. webber
Apples, pears, plums, sweet corn cobs are all tops as supplementary foods and aids to holding birds. webber
rimfire4969
I put a load of windfall apples in one of our pens, our pheasants didn't seem that fussed with them a few peck marks, They loved corn on the cob though. I will do the same next year if it keeps one bird from straying its worth it.

Scully
Have just spent the afternoon pulping/pressing apples for cider, (now have 78 litres of juice and another 7 dustbins full of apples to go at!) the pressed pulp will get scattered in the margins of our duck pond. ollie
I sometimes scatter chopped crab apples into the duck pond and it supplements the grain. They eat it anyway.
