Guest rimotu66
Why a Defender? I would sooner have a Disco as an every day drive, 90's are good as a tractor with a cab but you will be better with a Disco, more room, better comfort etc and they will do anything a Defender will do off road. Gav912
I went from a 300tdi Discovery to a Td5 Defender 110 DC as my daily drive and wouldn't want to go back to a Discovery again. While a Discovery is good and has more car like qualities I prefer the seating position and more practical nature along with the handling of the Defender to it. Hope you'll be as happy with your Defender as I am with mine, missed having one for the 6 years that I was running the Discovery, they're a Marmite vehicle, you either love them or hate them and I love them! Gav912
One work of advice Matt, I think you'll find that the front number plate you have fitted on it is actually illegal for vehicles built after 1973. Sure someone more in the know will confirm it or tell me I'm wrong but if I'm not best get it changed before it gets noticed.

Correct, the black and silver pressed number plates can only be fitted on pre 1973 vehicles, ie tax exempt ones.

I hate to say it but a Disco won't do anything a Defender will off road. Sorry Just edited to put the record's right. landy george
Except leave the same kind of scent marking spots on your drive at times I leave mine on the road just to keep the neighbours happy. They can then share the oil & mud into their houses.
mick miller
If your tdi 300 is leaking oil I'll put a pound to a penny that it's the sump seal. It's really not rocket science to have a landy that doesn't spew oil chaps.

Kitchen
I got the td5 and it's a good old bus one thing to watch out for if your going for a defender is they have a tendency to get nicked more so with the old 200s and 300s and if they don't get nicked they usual end up getting parts nicked of um had the bonnet lights indicators nicked of mine mate had back lights and winch and bumper nicked of his just about every body I know with one as had it stolen or something stolen of it so just be we're take it to bed with ya if you can
