No, you could walk in to a rfd and buy a sak mod suitable for a .22 rf / .17 hmr and say its for a air rifle he can sell you it as it's not for a section 1 rifle it's not classed as a firearm so no license needed, but still as its suitable for a rimfire calibre you could use it on a firearm,

He states that it has been on his rimfire - therefore it is classed as S1

 

It's a very grey area, but once on a firearm it is a firearm and therefore should be on ticket.

Lots of people buy Sak moderators in particular, solely for the reason that they are an easy workaround.

 

Not saying right or wrong, but legally very questionable !

too true mate some people have to much time on their hands, but just to clarify, as stated been on my rimfire.. yes it has for 5 seconds, just to make sure it was 1/2unf as it came off another gun and wanted to make sure of the thread.. thank you
