No, you could walk in to a rfd and buy a sak mod suitable for a .22 rf / .17 hmr and say its for a air rifle he can sell you it as it's not for a section 1 rifle it's not classed as a firearm so no license needed, but still as its suitable for a rimfire calibre you could use it on a firearm, Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Lots of people buy Sak moderators in particular, solely for the reason that they are an easy workaround. Not saying right or wrong, but legally very questionable !
