Door bell

Silly question, I know nadder about electrics, I need to replace the door bell button, do I need to turn the trips off to re wire it, or is it safe to just do it.

It's seems so innocuous, two tiny wires, but then, the doorbell may get the last laugh and blow my face off?

Would you jump in front of a bus if you thought the brakes were ok?

Why are you patronising me? I'm a nurse, not an electrician, hence the question. Jeeze.

Thanks everyone else, I'll just turn the power off and have a bash.

Ive allways tested a battery on tongue still do, in my teens i use to mess about with old radiograms and to find out if power was coming in i would touch the terminals inside, had plenty of kicks, made a testor in the end with wire and bulb, to think how dull i was then dew dew  allways best to be safe these days tho got plenty of testers now.
