I've seen a couple of beretta 301&302 but in quite ruff condition, I'd like to go beretta as I have a silver pigeon which I love. But I have 2 guns now the missis only knows I have 1 so I don't really want to spend to much, so hence leaning to a Hanson as there around £400 new. Plus il only be using it for pigeon bashing

The thing with the Hanson I've been reading some conflicting reviews on them, it looks like that people that have them think there great and a lot of people that don't seem to slag them off. I'm just looking for a cheap auto, don't get me wrong I'd love to get the beretta a400 but can't warrant spending £1500 on a gun that I will be sitting in a muddy field with. I have my silver pigeon for clays, so the auto is purely for rough

steel proof was important factor for me that why gone for HATSAN .

try one .

btw there was some problems with hatsan escort mk1 but mk2 is so far problem free.

and quick load system is spot on ( in my opinion ) its take that bit of hassle from loading and after 3 days of using it its nice and fast.

Ask yourself if they are such great guns why is there a Escort up for sale almost every day on here ?

If they are so great why do people not hang on to them ?

I have never owned one to be honest but I shoot with someone who does and its been nothing but a pain , its kept clean and he uses the right cartridges but he still gets more jams in a day than my Beretta had in 5 years , your £500 would be so much better spent on a S/H Beretta and as mentioned you will get the same money when the Mrs finds out and you have to sell it

Also ask yourself this

By the time a £350 hatsan has been made and the maker has shipped it and made a profit on it , the importer has sent it to the gun shop and made a profit on it , the dealer has sold it to you and made a profit on it , how much money do you really think has gone into building that gun with quality materials ?

The Remington had seen better days about 10 yrs ago, found a nice one but it had been sold, think il have to be patient with this and jus hold out, still thinking on the Hatsan tho

I am not going to knock the hatsan as a lot of people have them and swear by them also a lot swear at them.i have known a few people who have them and it is split 50-50 good and bad reports.the issue of resale price needs to be considered as when most of us buy guns we dry mount in a shop or someones house which is not the same as shooting and what feels good indoors may not be so good out.i have lost a small fortune on guns over the years because they did not suit me when the trigger was pulled.you can pay as much for a fifteen year old semi as a brand new one that should give a clue as to what one would be a safer bet for the years to come.my gunsmith also does not stock new hatsan and for the same reason he has a massive stock of the others though.he told me he was in the business to earn a living not a bad reputation which is what he was getting with all the returns.anyway its your call and your cash.good luck
