B725
Give it some thing it can chew,I assume it's doing it because is left on it's own with nothing to do.
vampire
As above post and rub the bars with washing up liquid. Put her in there on a good note and reward her, then lenghten the time in there, feed her in there and it will become a good place, put her in there at different times,it has to be the place she defers to for comfort,so NEVER put her in there on a bad note. darren 67
6 months old, do you think she might be teething and chewing for relief. Has she started to or already lost her baby teeth. Just a thought.

I agree, the crate should never be a punishment, it should be a place the pup feels safe and secure.
kent
If the pup isn't happy to go in and settle you have already soured things. Chances are frustration and access energy. If you are putting her in but then trapping her in with that door are you surprised? Personally I don't like the darn things, mine is a wooden box without a door. THE DOG SHOULD LIKE THE CREATE and that's all down to correct introduction and association, its the same with kennels
darren m
my dogs love their crates , they could lie anywhere in the large utility but the 3 of them prefer to lay on top of each other in the crate lol. nyla bones are good , not too hard to damage teeth and almost indestructable , different flavours and sizes available
Andysniper
Thanks for the advice guys she goes in fine on her own and she has a kong to chew while in there its when she is left in there she chews the bars to get out and if I leave a bed in there with her she will also chew that to bits. I would leave the door open but im worried that she will chew things in the house if I let her have free rein. she has lost all her baby teeth
James_w12345
Im no dog expert, but from what I know, puppies chew through both boredom and teething. A Kong or similar toy which you can put treats inside, is very tough rubber will help for both reasons. they chew it if teeth are coming through, or if they are bored to try and get the treat out. worth trying for a fiver. Catweazle
Does she have a toy box ? I have dobies who love to chew things so they have a big crate full of old toys, bits of rope, sticks etc etc. Sometimes they will spend ages getting right to the bottom of the box to get that "special" bit of old rope, but they don't damage anything else and it only takes a minute to put the toys back in.
