Davyo
Aspen was my faithful gun dog for 12 yrs.I had to have him put to sleep over 15 yrs ago and haven't had a dog since. My mate has aquired a fine springer bitch who is in the process of being trained and I have enjoyed having her around. It has brought back fond memories of my dog Aspen. So I have been up in the loft and found some pictures of him when he was a stunning young lad. I think its time to look for another Aspen. Edited December 10, 2013 by Davyo
evo
what a proud looking dog, think you should get another,, since I,ve had mine its amazing the pleasure you get from taking him for walks everyday and also having playtime with him but most of all how proud he makes me feel when I,m training him and he gets it right there,s not a better feeling in the world, cant move anywhere without mine, he just wants to be by my side all the time ha ha atb Evo
rimfire4969
Go for it, but don't rush for the first puppy. Decide want you want of your new dog and find one that is ideal. Good luck, I have a 4 month old springer at the moment and she has fitted in really well with my others. It was about 4 years since I last had a puppy, forgot what fun and work they are. kent
I had such a period dogless, work, children and to some degree grief over loosing my last in line prevented me from doing it again for some time. Seems you have reached that stage were something is missing so go for it if circumstance is right
johnphilip
go for it, i lost my 14 year old border collie two years ago , and to this day i still miss her. the bond we had was amazing . well earler this year i got myself a cocker pup he is now 8 month and i love him to bits , well apart from when he wants to nick me tea . he is a very good looking dog and has the brains to go with it . i have just under gone an op for prostrate cancer , so not doing a lot at the mo, he is great company . look forward to getting better and get him out on some good walks . i am lucky we get some pheasants coming in the garden so he is keeping his eye on them . and does get to chase them. the look on his face is a picture .go for it .and enjoy every minute you spend with them
