kyska
Due to a change in strategy on the farm, we are drilling a couple of hundred acre of beans very soon, we've never had them in the ground on our land. Whats the pigeon shooting like, generally, over winter drilled beans? Anyone have any experience?
Sharpshooter.123
Difficult with this much rape around, iv got 90 acres of beans and not a pigeon in sight. Crow shooting was good tho.
shootnfish
If there's pigeons in your area i would of thought they would be all over them and you will be in for some good shooting.

la bala
if you dont connect with them on the drill, you could get some good days when they harvest them.

JDog
My best ever bags and sustained shooting was over spring bean drilling. Winter bean drilling for some reason is not as exciting as spring beans, possibly because the spillage is less. if you do not find pigeons on after ten days or so they will be giving it a miss. The two months or so after harvest could be productive.
remmyman
I got really excited a few years ago when the farmer on my main permission announced 'We're growing 50acres of winter beans this year', only trouble was he PLOUGHED them in as it was too wet for the drill Regards Remmyman

Cranfield
I tend to find all Winter drillings nowhere near as productive as Spring drillings and that includes beans. Recently drilled wheat and beans in my area have not had a bird on them. Harvest time is a different matter and I shot a lot of birds this year over bean stubble.
