aister
A good accurate gun at an affordable price IMO. My mate has one and for the price I cant fault it.
Olliesims
I had one, only sold because I got a 243 now, if I was you I would get rid of the stock as there too flexiable, stick a boyds stock on it and its even better
cjm
Cant fault mine. Accounted for quite a few charlies
masmiffy
I shoot a Howa 1500 and its a great piece of kit have shot hundreds of foxes with it. Make sure you spend wisely on the scope cheap is no good, especially at night lamping.

When I first got mine I had a camo stock on it and the accuracy was awful. When my thombhole stock from Highland Outdoors arrived the rifle was much more accurate. I can't fault my .223, it has bagged a few foxes.
Dekers
There is nothing wrong with the Howas.
iain
+ 1 for the Boyds Stock. Makes a "ok" rifle shoot much better. But, then again I'm biased. Got
Therealchucknorris
The package available through Highland Outdoors (via their distributers) sounds pretty good value as they put together a scope, mod, bipod and Hogue stock for £895 or so. Didn't seem too bad to have a set up that you could take straight into the field, bed in / zero then get on it.
grimey121uk
Fantastic gun, I have one with the varmint barrel and can't fault it at all. Also as a bonus it loves fairly cheap factory ammo. I posted a thread about mine with the latest post reviewing its performance at 200 yards; http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/264878-new-toy-arrived-howa-1500-varmint/ Edited January 3, 2014 by grimey121uk
allanm
i aslo have one with a boyds stock fitted and i cant fault it , mine likes sako gameheads 50 or 55gr and winchester super x not tried any others as both these types were well under 1" @ 200 yrds

allanm
yes was more than happy with that ,the winchesters just edged it and being cheaper per box was a bonus aswell
Pheasant Feeder
I'm happy with mine, can't fault it as a good working rifle. Not sure how good it would be as a target rifle but for a foxing tool its spot on.
remmy1100
i bought the package and well worth the money never had problem with stock its a bit flexy but plenty ov clearance to barrel..mine loved hornday 55 grain sub 1" @ 100 yds but my homeloads are better 1/4-1/2""@100yds 55 grain v-max.mine has accounted for plenty foxes, review of the howa 223 here against other 223 packages http ://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=D6GXR5XjNLs hope this helps
