dazzyboi
I know its the age old arguement...Iv been using platics up until my next lot..Mainly because of the clay ground. I can use game loads (30grms/32grms shot 6) but it has to be fibre's only. Instead of buying the normal 250 plastics, then how ever many i use down the clay ground, i was thinking about buying 250 fibres in game load to save myself abit of money.. This way then they will be good for both cases, pigeon decoying/roost shooting/rabbit bashing and down the clay ground. Only thing is..how much does it effect the pattern? potshot
Latest research shows with modern fibre wads there is really very little difference - with fibre wads actually producing slightly better results!!!

There is only one thing left to worry about then... my poor shoulder after a days clay shooting on game loads
Lord Geordie
I shot 1000 Bradford Stalkers own brand "re labeled Lyavale" 28g number 8s in fiber wad and they shot flawlessly and were goos strong hits Personally i dont have a prob with them. though i WOULD want to use plastic wads if using heavy shot or steel. deadeye ive
I seem to re-call a article in a shooting mag whereby a photo was taken a few inches away from the muzzle capturing the shot leaving the barrel ...............With the same choke identical shot/weight was used and the only difference being plastic and fibre wads .The pattern was alot tighter out the barrel with the plastic wads so fibre would be good for Skeet IMO
dazzyboi
.The pattern was alot tighter out the barrel with the plastic wads so fibre would be good for Skeet IMO That would be the plastic cup keeping it tight out of the barrel until the load outruns the cup
mr smith
Most plastic wads have fingers(don't know what they are really called)these protect the shot from scrubbing on the barrel. There should be less deformed shot and therefore fly truer. Think that's right anyway.
henry d
Try and get some large paper sacks and split them and shoot 5 of one then 5 of the other then AND ONLY THEN can you say whether or not a cartridge will print any better in the gun and choke of your choice. njc110381
I try to use fibres everywhere apart from the club, and I only use plastics there because I got a load cheap! I'm not sure about those carts for clays though. Some comp rules state 28g or under

I'm not sure about those carts for clays though. Some comp rules state 28g or under I already asked the owner of the club, and there are no cart restrictions apart from fibre wads only.. Ill probably go for Gamebore supergame no6 30grms next time anyway rather than 32.
njc110381
The rule may just apply to registered skeet shoots, I don't know. If you're allowed to use them, buy a load
