Oli383
Hi guys hopefully will not start an argument this time But i was just wondering how to keep my new beretta silver pigeon 1's stock in good condition, I don't want to change the colour of of it just keep it in new condition as it wont be long before i get it wet or something. I have some walnut oil will this do the trick as i use that on my BSA R10 but that has a walnut stock. Many thanks and apologies for another topic ATB Oli

norfolk dumpling
Lindseed oil with alcanet (?) keeps my SP looking good. Only needs a very small drop each time I clean it. Only slight prob is it is very easy to get onto metal and its not until you get into good light you see a slight discolouration on the edge of the action.;
welshwarrior
Good quality bees wax will maintain it well.
aris
Good quality bees wax will maintain it well. Bees wax is typically mixed with various other products to make them into 'polish'. Turpentine, linseed oil, carnauba wax etc. Any preference on which combinations are best?

However I've been shown a commercial product very similar from a company called Red Kite, that would work.. Or Trade Secret stock wax is also a very useful product. Vinny v
Just to shed some light on this I contacted Beretta regarding this topic last year and they replied to the effect that they actually use ccl on their stocks in the factory so this would seem the obvious choice and used by me. Just read the instructions and don't be tempted to use more !! V

blackbird
Another vote for CCL stock oil, a tip a gunsmith gave me was to warm it up first by putting the bottle into a cup of warm water then it makes the oil thiner & makes application a lot easier with better results.
