Yes I use them in 222, 243 and 6.5.

Lee have had an issue with machining tolerances. Turns out the trimmer is sloppy in some of the dies. I have a 243 here that needs to go back to where I Boughy it. I replaced it at the shoot show.

It make the job a lot easier. I have the deluxe trimmer and lock the dies in a cheap single stage press. I pop the primer and size on the one press the straight to trimmer and into the bucket for cleaning.

There is a ball bearing in the deluxe. I have removed it as it puts to much on the chamfer. Lees advice.

Thanks for the advice

I got mine yesterday for 223, 303 and 308.

I have a done a load of brass today in a hour I would say it makes the whole process I used to do four times faster.

It make a good job of the trimming and chamfering (I have the deluxe trimmer fitment).

Where did you buy yours from?

I'm almost tempted but I vowed never to give Roger Bill (Shooting Supplies) any more of my money after the disgusting way they acted when my 9mm lever release blew up in my face. I'll order mine from Titan Reloading in the US, they have the 300aac die as well which hasn't made it over here yet.

These are Titans prices,

Deluxe Quick Trim 90437 1 $16.00
.44 Magnum Quick Trim Die 90125 1 $11.79
.300 AAC Quick Trim Die 90689 1 $08.78
.308 Win Quick Trim Die 90231 1 $08.78

Was thinking of buying one of the expensive ones, so I'm glad I saw this post! :good:

Although, only consistent use and time will tell if they're any good....

So the basic model comes without the chamfer part?

I'd be surprised if Roger is selling them cheaper than other places as he's usually the most expensive!

Depending on the result of the phone call tomorrow morning, I may ask my friend in the USA to get them for me and send them over.

Postage from the US isn't cheap, I already have some bits sitting with a friend on the Gulf Coast, if I add the stuff above it will be around 1.5Kg, a USPS flat rate box is $24.95 which can be up to 4lb in weight.

Shipping to the UK for just the bits above from the Titan Reloading site comes to $27.85 for the cheapest method.

And the Deluxe Quick Trim is now out of stock but showing in stock on the Lee site so Titan should have them very soon.

Crikey, I'd bet those prices are "promotional" prices knowing Roger!

Did you notice if he had plenty on the shelves?

That had only just come in. Roger didn't know a lot about them as he didn't have chance to play. There was two one shelf that I could see but I think the other was the standard one. Had very few die's. Only one .243 and I have to take that back as it's not right =-O

What's wrong with it Active?

It makes me wonder whether to hold off until the minor issues with the "first batch" so to speak are sorted before I buy one.... :/

There are ok and Lee know about the problem. Its the die that has the machining tolerance issue.

Easy way to check it to put the cutter into the top of the die, if it really wobbles then its bad, if its a snug but not tight, fit then all is good.

There you go, photos are always easier. Top photo is the bad one.

As I was passing through Bromsgrove today, I phoned Bromsgrove Shooting Supplies first thing this morning around 08:50, to try and secure the last Deluxe model case trimmer, and hopefully a .223 die to go with it. A grumpy Roger answered the phone, and told me they don't open until 09:00, and to call back just after then. He was his usual charming self, but fair point....

Anyhow, I called back and managed to reserve the last Deluxe model, and a .223 die to go with it.

The Deluxe trimmer was £17.95, and the die was £9.95. I thought £12.95 was too good to be true. At least for me anyhow... If you Squeeeezed out a good deal from Roger, then fair play to you Activeiii ! :good:

Taking your advice on board Activeiii, I went in with my digital vernier and said I wanted to check the die's internal diameter before I paid for it.

I got a puzzled look on the assistant's face, until I briefly explained the apparent issue with some early dies.

He was then very accommodating and removed the die from the packaging and handed it to me. It was 14.28mm and the cutter was nice and snug in the die.

Job done! Albeit, on measuring the die, half a dozen brass cleaning media balls fell out the die?? Anyhow, I paid my money and off I went.

On closer inspection at home it looked like the die had been used. There was around 20 bits of media inside both ends of the die, stuck inside by what looked like a smear of fresh oil of some type. The cheapo alloy locking ring was scratched a fair bit, like someone had used a spanner to tighten it! I hope that's not the case! :/ Anyhow, I used one of my own steel locking rings which can be tightened in place. I really hope the die isn't a "shop return".... Time will tell.....

Just for others info, there were a number of the dies in the cabinet, ranging from .243, and several 308. However, I forgot to ask about another delivery of the cutters.

On the off-chance it may help a few others; On the powder front, there was a fair bit of Viht, ranging from, N133, N135, N140, and at least 5 other types of Viht. IMR 4895, Lil-gun, Superformance, Reloader 15, and a few others but I can't remember the numbers.... Also a small selection of primers, mainly CCI, No Rem 7 1/2's, but a couple of 1000 Federal Premium Gold Medal primers, (I believe small rifle) Also several boxes of Lapua brass. One being for .223, priced at £68 per 100.

Well there's certainly no way it would have came from Lee with tumbling media in it!.

Not very surprising given the absolutely appalling level of dis-service, buck passing and complete "don't give a flying fork" attitude I had from him when my 9mm lever release blew up in my face.

I've just ordered the dies from Tim Hannam (243, 22-250. 22 Hornet) as he did'nt have the deluxe trimmer in stock. I then ordered the trimmer from Henry Krank. I know it cost me more (£22.50 inc £4.00 pp) but at least I'll have it soon. Also, if the dies are faulty, I know that Tim Hannam will replace them or refund my money.

You should know better that to phone before hours, Mr happy dosent come in till 9pm. but then why answer the phone if not open, the mind puzzles.

Hope you didnt say about the £12.95 as i was going to take the die back. but then no real need as Lee sent a new one yesterday.

All my dies had machining swarf inside but no extra balls.lol must be a male thing. I did clean the die first and then a light oil on out side and Teflon on inside, plus a bit of case lube on the o'rings.

Roger only had 2 locking rings on the shelf at the time so need to get one more. i like the horney ones but then the die doesnt fit back in the case.

Did you take out the 8mm ball from the cutter?
