krwigan
Hello all, I have a small circular dot/mark on one of my barrels. I have been using plastic wads. Should I just keep scrubbing it with the copper brush or could I over do it and cause some damage? Thanks for reading KR
TIGHTCHOKE
What make of gun is it?
figgy
Why bother the next plaswad will leave marks anyway. If you have cleaned and lightly oiled your barrels I wouldn't worry about it. If you are determined to remove it a tip from member GordonR was to pour boiling water down the barrels then plug the ends and fill with the hot water leave to stand for five mins and the fouling will have come off when you empty and dry your barrels. krwigan
I have a copper brush, that must be as good as wire wool? Or am I wrong? This is my first gun so sorry if my questions sound daft!
tedster
No questions are daft, wire wool costs pence and I've found nothing better. Those brushes only seem to smear it about!
krwigan
Thank you! ..... My barrels are as clean as a whistle, except for this one mark that will not budge! I've put some 303 down it an left it for a few mins then scrubbed and wiped it clean but it's not budging?

tedster
Get some FINE wire wool, B&Q or any hardware store. Pull off a tuft and soak it in your solvent then push it down your barrel. Run a few wads of paper towel down after and finish off with some light oil, sorted.

When you get your gun back from a gunsmith after getting it serviced the barrels are like mirrors, the answer.......fine wire wool. Get yourself down to B&Q its about £3.00 and will last a few years as you don't have to use it every time. Edit... What Tedster said. krwigan
new zoli? or old zoli? I don't know the age, I presume it can't be that old if it has a chrome barrel but you will probably know more about it that me. This mark wasn't their this morning
krwigan
Wire wool it is then! Thank you all for your help, as long as it's standard and I not done any damage that's what I was worried about. Hopefully the wire wool will get it sorted!
