George's Dad
The £50 pays for the 20 targets, ground fee and levies. The 'profit' from the shoot goes towards sending the GB team to events. I think the elimination element has been discontinued now. Thanks for that PhilR. Do you know how the cost of a ZZ target compares to say a blaze (or black for that matter) Standard Clay? PhilR
A helice target is comprised of two parts and is therefore costly to buy, they're imported as well. Most grounds charge them at £1.20 a go. Grounds charge between 25 and 35p a standard clay using the claymate or similar system. I'm charged between £6.50 and £7.50 for a round of 25 trench targets. HDAV
I thought a "helice" was a normal clay with wings and the wings could be reused? Metal or plastic wings attached to the clay and reusable a few times before deystroyed?
PhilR
The inner is reused a number of times before being too damaged by shot. The outer propellor is brittle plastic and is the part detached by the shot and is not reusable once hit. Metal propellors aren't used here in competition. I think they're the American version. Gordon R
I shot the A6 layout before they sold the traps. It was okay, but very expensive for what it was.
Azzurri
As an aside the restaurant there is superb. However, Bluey being a Yorkie you've got short arms and deep pockets. The recent ZZ selection shoot was £50 to enter and an additional £30 to enter the prize fund for just 20 targets. That's not too bad, cheaper than I thought actually. With a bit of practice I'd be keen to enter a comp no probs :-) Azzurri.
Penelope
That's only a 20p increase in 20 years comparing against West Kent SS's price of £1.00 per target in 1990-93. A helice target is comprised of two parts and is therefore costly to buy, they're imported as well. Most grounds charge them at £1.20 a go. aris
Random. But if 3 of the 5 are gone, you have a better idea of which ones come next :-)
