Hi all . just thought I would post a short vid up from Saturday ( just gone ) , had a few hrs shooting over some drillings , little bit rusty as like most of us I've no had much chance to shoot over winter months ,but I had a great time none the less , still cant get used to shooting with a cam stuck to the side of my head , just seems strange to me , but I will get used to it , as long as I remember to take it with me ........ Doh !

anyway I had 45 in the end before the weather turned for the worse and stopped play .

Good video and impressive shooting. Interestingly there is hardly a tree in sight so the birds must have travelled a long way.

yeah well spotted , there was nothing , no trees , bushes nothing , just me and one great big field , if you can picture , I was sitting 3/4 of the way down towards the bottom of the field , there was a drain running along the whole length of field to my left , as it was quite windy the birds were travelling along the drain from my north and last minute popping over the bank and coming around the back of me to my magnet , I was going to set up along the bottom however after sitting watching there flight line , the spot I had chosen as what would have been the best place to set up ,( as it had the only bit of cover) , the birds would have flown straight past me along the drain , and not even given me a second glace , so I ended up picking what I thought would be the best return point , however like I said there was no cover , so I ended up making a small hide around a telegraph pole , and just beefed up my net with lots of dried grass and whatever I could find .

Nice. You did seem a bit rusty,

tell me about it , I think it was the sheer excitement of finally seeing some pigeons ;-) 25 yrs on I still get a touch of buck fever now and then .

Thanks everyone .

Fenboy , how's the pigeon situation your end ? are you not seeing any action yet ? birds still flocked up, lack of birds or just not getting the chance to get out in the field ?

Good video and it was nice to see a shooter refrain from "hit and hope" shooting into a large group

thank you , what can I say , I like my birds to be sporting , ( if possible ) as the pack started to veer off , felt the other presented its self as. better shot , I would rather have one bird for the pot , rather than three missis , if you know what I mean .
