fiiish1987
This morning my sister's boyfriend said he saw a big fat rat scuttle into my front garden. Now I don't want ratty to get into a fight with my collie so I've deicded to introduce an airgun pellet to him some time in the near future. Any tips on finding mateys hiding place in a garden as i've never shot rats before and am not sure of the signs of an area frequented by the ****? I'd like to idealy use the peanutbutter trick on him. Any tips would be fantastic P.S a pint goes to the man with the tip that kills the sod! fiiish1987
I don't think a smashed potato will kill it! Although you've given me an idea.... If i froze a potato and fired it out of a potato gun at the rat.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eH0SSu34JJc
Millomite
This ought to do it. If you haven't got an oversize comedy mousetrap game, then your mothers canary cage will do

Dead-Eyed Duck
Corn on the cob works great Bait beforehand so that the **** get used to it, and then on the date of the dirty deed be sure to tie down the cob otherwise the little beggars roll it away ASAP. njc110381
I'd put a solid backstop up and bait in front of it for a few days with something fine so it can't grab it and run off. Cat food is good. When it gets comfortable sitting there eating, shoot it
stevethevanman
I have heard that liquidised cat food does the trick on the bait side of things, lay the bait at the end of your garden or if it is big 30yds out of your window or 10yds whatever your gun is zeroed at, then just lamp him of the bait. P.S. NV gear works great for this.
col s10
thats why you use peanut butter they have to nosh it on the spot ps use flat heads for close range 0 15 yards they are very resilient

fiiish1987
Good News and bad new on this one. I'd pasted peanut butter and mash spud on two seperate sites for a couple of days. Each day it was gone so I believed that ratty was happy to visit these sites for food (and corrective lead surgery ). Only saturday morning I spotted next doors cat chomping down at both sites removing my bait not long after I'd pasted it their! So much for ratty visiting the sites. Anyhoo later that day when getting food for my sister's rabbit from the shed (ironic i know) my brother spotted that the bag had been torn open with feed over the shed floor! I set up in my other shed (which luckily has a window looking into the door of the other shed) and after about 2hrs of waiting (and contemplaiting wether to open that bottle of jd later on) ratty showed up. He's now nailed to the shed with a sign below him reading "other theivin rats ye be warned" Cheers for the tips guys!
