Got myself a 2stroke engine for a smoker but can get it to smoke have put loads of oil into the mixture.. Have searched the internet for the perfect ration but can't find it..

 

So my question is what ratio are you guys using?

in the past, we used enough oil to turn the petrol dark black if that helps

U'd be surprised how much smoke comes out that you can't see. if you leave it ticking over for a bit then rev it up for a few mins then repeat u should get decent amounts of smoke. Also if you can adjust the carb and get it running rich that might help.

If I lean it to the side at a funny angle it smokes dose stink so might be worth leaving it as it is because the fumes might kick em out anyway.. I don't feel I would do the correct job playing with the carb aha thanks for the replies

 

Dose anyone just rat using the 2stroke engine at the correct ratio?

the one i saw working wasnt smoking much at all.. mabie its the fumes that drives them out?

I'd say its a combination of fumes and smoke, most animals will run from smoke as it suggests forest fire, I now use a rat attack smoker, which is lots of smoke hardly any smell, as the constant use of engines gave me bad headaches

Try running the engine the way its supposed to be run so you won't get any problems, the fumes do the the job as is...

If it's any help, my 2 stroke strimmer engine runs 90% petrol, 10% 2stroke oil.

made my wife's petrol car smoke like a steam train when she put it in!

I bought one off the bay from the states it was called a insect fogger and uses gas and doesn't half smoke
