Cookie69
Hi Guys. finally got together with the farmer today and he signed my permission letter. he told me there were at least 600 pigeons on the field today and that they weren't even bothered by him spreading fertilizer?? he has told me to fill my boots, after, I had a drive down to see for my self,, when I arrived there probably wasn't quite 600 but its the most I've seen so far this year. I drove down the track that separated the fields and they didn't seem at all bothered?? I even blasted the horn on the car, the pigeons that did lift off dropped straight back onto the field just 15 - 20 yrds away,, any way im on um tomorrow morning assuming there still there that is. any tips?? it my 1st time on beans should I approach it much the same as a rape field?? thanks Paul Edited April 15, 2014 by Cookie69
JDog
Just sit and watch for a while to ascertain the flight lines. Then put the flock off the field and confirm your original thoughts when they return.

dead eye alan
Have a good time, I do hope the pigeons have stayed put for you. Yes like you and Steveg i cant sleep when a big day is expected, but some times it just don't happen. On barley drill this morning reported 600 + on it yesterday and not bother'd by the roller going up and down. Been up since 5am.
