I've just brought this second hand 16b. The stock, as you can see in the photo has a pretty ugly pad fitted, its glued on and a bit long for me!

Is it a fairly simple job to cut it off and fit a new pad or should i get it done by a gunsmith?

Anything i need to be careful of?

Many thanks

Peter

If it's too long for you it needs attention.

Plenty of rubber/wood/adjustable pads available, and aesthetically I know a better job can be done.

These jobs are sometimes best left to the experts though, even though a good DIY enthusiast may want to try.

ATB! :good:

What's the gun?

It's a Belgium 16b, not sure of maker or age. I am planning to do little research on it, the proof marks are all pretty legible..

Not particularly valuable but it belonged to a mate for ages who hardly used it, I always likes it and picked it up for not a lot :)
