Shadowchaser
I have a well padded 52 inch (external measurement) gun slip (no make given) which it just long enough for my Maxus (and my previous Xtrema 2). However the end where the muzzle fits is very tight and twice with the Xtrema and now once with the Maxus I have lost the glow sight at the end of the barrel. Has anyone else had this problem? Are there long enough slips out there that are not as well padded and therefore not as likely to grip the sight and snatch it free? Other than this it's either a case of taking my gun in it's original box or removing the sight every time I'm going to put it in a slip. Any ideas would be welcome. saddler
...or have the slip modified to a more rounded (plug) style nose; less friction on the end of the muzzle in such designs
sonicdmb
how about a bit of plastic pipe thats a good fit in the end of the slip?

sonicdmb
Cheaper than a new gun bag
Scully
Remove the front bead? I had a similar problem where the front bead eventually started pulling out the padding, so I removed it. You don't need it really.
wraivi
I had similar with my maxus, so I put it into one of those gun sock type bags some shops give you to carry a gun to the car. I then slide the 'socked' gun into the bag.
Shadowchaser
Cheaper than a new gun bag I have implemented this idea and no friction is now occurring between the sight and the bag. Cheers. Remove the front bead? I had a similar problem where the front bead eventually started pulling out the padding, so I removed it. You don't need it really. I know that you don't actually look at the bead/sight when shooting, you look at the target, but it's a bit of an OCD thing for me. I ended up using my Xtrema with no bead and it just felt strange.
