turbo33
I recently picked up another perm. Can't use the shotgun because of the live stock, but the blackstuff has been causing the farmer grief, doo doos everywhere and scoffing all the pig food. Its a tricky one as the Jackdaws swoop into the barn, settle for a second to check all is safe, then drop out of sight into one of two pens with 5 pigs in each. Then they grab some food and skit There's nowhere in the barn to hide up, net or otherwise, as it puts you too close and the blighters are smarter than that Still, I had a plan I checked zero on the HW100, popping drawing pins at 34 yards in the garden (No I'm not doing another video ) then set off. I parked the truck in the yard, then into reverse and a lasered 34 yards to the tin sheets they were landing, on.handbreak on, engine off It wasn't long before the first one arrived He didn't see me, sitting in the truck with the door slightly ajar, rifle on jumper He did the quick look around and before he could drop down to the feeder, an RWS Superfield changed his plans....perfect head shot Now when I had a walk round on intro, the farmer said, just leave them where they drop, "the pigs'l 'ave 'em"!! I did say its ok, I'll get them out, but he insisted I left them to the pigs. So I thought the pigeon watch massive like to see pics, so I'll retrieve it. Absolutely no chance! In the time it took me to walk 34 yards, two already had the jacky in a tug of war and within seconds it was gone, shocking :o So for the next hour, that's how it went. Dropped 8 into the pigs and two off the roof of the next barn, that then rolled into the pig pens So no pics to be had! Round two. The farm is 1/2 a mile from another perm. So thinking I'll give this lot an hour off, I went for a look round there. There's an old dead tree the crows and rooks like to sit high on. So I parked up and sure enough, they were using it As the closest you can get to this perch is 50 yards, I got the Airwolf out. Three shots later, three down, Picked one, but left the other two in the stingers. Bit of a drive round. Then back to the previous farm. There's a cattle water trough in one of the fields, and obviously the crows etc use it. Again, I parked the truck, Airwolf in the crook of the door. I lasered it at 60 yards, so let a couple off at the stones infront to check the aim point Again, it wasn't long before the first thirsty Jackdaw landed. An AA heavy knocked him straight off the trough. And so it continued for the next hour and a half. Was like the old western movies, shooting Cherokees off horses It was great sport sniping them from out of sight with such a perfect set up for pellet placement. So finished up with: HW100..... 10 Jackdaws Airwolf ......4 rooks, 1 crow, 2 Jackdaws and 6 pigeons. ( 5 woodies in the pics, and the farmers Labs picked one that dropped behind the barn ) Edited June 9, 2014 by turbo33

turbo33
Thanks BB Yup, forgotten what a shotgun looks like Something very satisfying about a good day out with the air rifles. I'd have to get 4 times the bag with a shotgun to start coming close
