Gone.

Hardly surprising when you consider nearly 70% of English Premier League players are foreigners!!

I'm afraid that until that statistic is reversed the England national team will struggle in any major tournament.

nonsense.

we have only ever won one tournament as we all know, foreign players have only started dominating in last 15 years, so whats the excuse for all the other failures.

we did not even qualify in 74 and 78 with no foreigners in our league set up ( apart from scots, welsh, and irish)

so need to look elsewhere for the reasons im afraid

About right, look at the % of foreign players in other leagues Italian a classic with inter regularly putting out teams with no Italian players ( chelski were the first to achieve this target of no nationals in the team mind) then look at la liga and real and barca and see who they rely on? its an international game, trouble is we dont teach technique and the kids are not playing in numbers now, to many x boxes and a lack of school fields you can have a kick about on, in my day you could play on any school field every evening and weekend, now they are fenced off like a prison camp? and any green field now has houses on.

So you don't think that having 70% of players in the Premier League from other countries has a bearing on the national team?

I think that's nonsense.

It's a major problem.

entitled to your opinion of course, so I ask the question, what in your opinion is the reason for previous failures before the influx of foreign players?

Too lacklustre British teams finish there season and go on holiday and take time out , whereas there foreign counterparts return to there home country's live and train with there country's teammates in preperation for either the euros or the World Cup.

We have 2 or 3 week together whereas such as South Korea start 24/7 training 2/3 months before a tournament.

Bottom line is we are a good country as far as champions leugue goes due to overseas players but as far as good British players go we ain't got ones that are as good so chances are we ain't never going to win country cups...

We just have minimal world class players at the moment and have not had these for 25 yrs..

Like it or not England are **** compared to the rest of the world...

Sincere condolences, but when I was heading back to Luton airport yesterday the kerb sides were littered with the car flags - there were that many I actually stopped to see what it was :/

lol

I am dreading the costa rica game, after the amount of stick I have given the scots since their defeat in 1990!!!

I watched that game in Sardinia with a few hundred England fans (as that's where our games were played) in a smallish village, and the locals could not understand why we were doing the conga and celebrating scotlands defeat so much, happy days,

what goes around comes around I guess

In the interests of sustainability / litter prevention car mounted england flags (aka idiot identification devices) should be made of bog roll. They should still be intact by the time we crash out.
