colin lad
got a real squeaky clutch pedal but only when in traffic and riding it have tried wd40 stopped for about 10 mins and axle grease still not cured any ideas its a honda crv and the noise is defiantly from inside car foot well colin
bazzab
Fact is only in traffic is clearly when pushing pedal slowly mate. If wd40 stopped it def in cabin where you sprayed. There will prob be a plastic bush on either a metal spindle or a spring that will be squeaking. Problem with wd40 is it can sod off quickly. Needs a decent spray grease mate as instead of wd. Cannon
It's likely to be a rubber or polymer bush that's worn.

goober
If the noise only happens when depressed then could be your clutch thrust bearing on its way out?
Gordon R
If you can feel a rumble through the pedal - clutch release bearing. If the noise is only when the pedal moves and is definitely inside the footwell - the problem is whatever bush the pedal pivots on. As has been suggested. A better spray than WD40. Cannon
Lithium grease will stop the squeaking for good, but obviously it would be a better job to replace the bush if that's what it turns out to be.
88b
Cable or hydraulic clutch ? You really need to get in there and look at what moves. If it's hydraulic it could be the master cyl or the push rod rubbing on a rubber seal.
walshie
I believe it's a plastic bush in the pedal itself. If you can rotate it from the position it's in, it should stop the squeaking. If not spray it with some lithium grease.
malkiserow
didn't you just buy it? I'd ask the garage to sort it as it is new...... and annoying.
colin lad
Not new malc it's 2nd hand though only 14k on the clock its only when riding clutch in traffic it's fine when driving normally and changing gear, it's just the wife uses it for work and the traffic getting out of village in the morning is stop start, i shall get some of the above mentioned spray to try and see if i can rotate bush if all else fails we go to garage but its a 40 mile round trip and if it's easy fix i will do it my self Colin
