Thunderbird
One of the dipped headlight bulbs on my car keeps blowing, usually the same side but the other one has gone too occasionally. It's a Mazda 6, any idea what might be causing it?
Gordon R
It could be fingerprints on the bulb, from installation. Leak in the actual headlight, letting water splash onto the bulb or a poor earth connection.
Thunderbird
Thanks Gordon, I've heard that about fingerprints before. I had a new one in there last week when it was MOT'd so it's going back in there tomorrow for a replacement. I'll see if they have any ideas. Paddy Galore!
does any condensation form in the case? I had a seal go on the tranny, the heat from the bulb used to make it steam up.

ack-ack
I reckon pot holes have much to do with it. Had the same thing on the passat, only made the link when a bulb went as i clipped a particularly gnarly one harder than usual and the bulb went. Estimate i was hiting it at least once a week when oncoming traffic prevented evasive action.
