796
Hi could any one tell me what these are like as I have had a go with one and wondered what they are like to own are they reliable and what sort of price should I be looking at for a tidy one many thanks simon
DaveyTed
I have a 101 - very similar but an earlier model. Great, well balanced and I much prefer it to my 325 grade 5. Downside, i'm told, is no spares availability in this country so something to bear in mind. Chokes are listed from Nigel Teague. I paid £550 last year from a home based dealer for mine - a 101 XTR lightweight, multichoke Guntrader normally has a selection to get an idea of price. Good luck and enjoy. If an altered gun fits you you'll have to pay to have a standard one altered....
welshwarrior
As above fit it key but Winchester is a good gun unfortunately part are thin on the ground now, that means either making parts from scratch, or adapting parts from a similar gun, or possibly get something sent from the US. Scully
I believe parts for the 101 can be adapted from Miroku parts. Scarcity of available parts has never put me off buying 101's, of which the 5500/6500 are derivatives.Good guns.

Gunman
There are virtually no dealers in the States that will ship to the UK due to a whole raft of legislation introduced over the last couple of years ,such as OK to send a shotgun but not a double rifle as a result most just say no as the different exporting controls are complex and require different licences form different government departments. The fines are for breaking these rules are very high so many/most just sell to walk in customers or only ship within the US . As to adapting parts from other guns may be one or two bits but not many . All these older guns may give years of trouble free shooting but if you do get a problem then it will cost . If you fancy a gamble then go buy it , but IMHO they are mostly overpriced for this reason . Edited July 10, 2014 by Gunman
