WinchesterDave
Ok, so my mum recently has started to get rather attached to pugs, so much so she now really wants one... Surprisingly my dad's said yes? Brother thinks she's having a mid life haha, I've been doing some research on them and they seem to be little dogs with loads of personality and think they are bigger than they are. But at the same time great loyal pets... Has anyone got much experience of this breed of dog? apart from the obvious of not being the most visually attractive haha! I should add we have a red labrador retriever who will be three this December so any problems with being with other dogs would be good Cheers Dave. corkycorksta
Breathing difficulties are common but lovely natured dogs and most entertaining - in a pig ugly sort of way
WinchesterDave
Yeah I read about their breathing Currently it's just talk but would like to find out some first hand knowledge really. May not even end up with a pug and something completely different haha
cocker boy
If your mum is a member of pigeon watch it could go anyway, like " I want a small, friendly lapdog that takes up very little space in the flat, eats next to nothing and needs minimal exercise, I know, I will get a Anatolian Karabash". Seems to work for everyone else on here. Edited August 9, 2014 by cocker boy

loriusgarrulus
We have a 3/4 pug 1/4 cavalier called Dougal. Very nice temperament. Cavalier in him has elongated the nose a bit so breathing not too bad, he still has a bit of the squished nose.. He has the spaniel coat and the pudgy body from the pug. The rest of his siblings looked more like a pug. He is a bright little fellow and good with the grandchildren. loriusgarrulus
Dougal means Dark stranger, thought it was appropriate. Also short for Dougal daft dog.
