srspower
I really learned the value of moving your hide when you're in the wrong place, and it paid off too
motty
Not a bad video, Srs. I think you would probably be better off placing your rotary between your decoys and hide. I also think the way you've constructed your hide is a hindrance to a good swing. Just a couple of observations.
srspower
Thanks for the feedback Motty, I tried to rectify the pole problem but the foliage did pull it down a bit ...
steveyg
well done lads, decent bag and some good sport..well worth the effort to move.
ollie
Good video. Can you not shoot the birds before they land on the ground? You shot the birds in the air very well so no need to let them land.
srspower
Good video. Can you not shoot the birds before they land on the ground? You shot the birds in the air very well so no need to let them land. Yeah I know it's not overly sporting. I have a gun fit issue (neck too long) and an eye dominance issue so I have to faff a bit mounting the gun (i have to sort of move my face farther back than is natural) to get a decent shot which sometimes means they land before I get a shot off! But at least it is a reasonably clean kill, that's the main thing Edited August 19, 2014 by srspower
yickdaz
noticed you sorted the net out by hooking the net rather than the loops on the pole but the poles are still a bit high you can see it clearly in the vid when setting them up stand against the front poles and use them as a guide chest height or just below chest height so you can swing the gun freely, like motty said try putting the rotary in front of decoys instead of behind them if the wind is at your back
srspower
Yeah I cut a few small holes for the net poles. I had the side poles high to give me some cover as I had no tree behind me when I moved. Moving the rotary closer is a good idea. I have to admit I setup the second hide and decoys in a hurry as I had moved location.
Dbw1shrops
Good vid again lads but I would deffo bring the magnet in closer to you as it will pull the birds closer to you resulting In a bigger bag ! Also was it the vid or was your battery dying on your magnet seemed quite slow ? Although it was seeming to pull them in ! Atb Dave

As long as you are getting the birds; shooting them on the ground just isn't my thing. Keep the vids coming.
dougall
It looks like you are shooting with your face way off the stock.....over time thats gotta hurt...whilst you seem to be hitting a fair few I would think you should go and work out either your eye dominance issue or comb/stock length.....it will help no end and rather than ''make do'' will make your shooting better? atb. srspower
I have a 'easyhit' sight which helps a bit with the eye dominance but for the fit that's going to be an expensive job! Would be cheaper to sell up and get something with a lower comb but I have become attached to my old B525. I am getting an sx3 soon though for practical and pest control and thankfully they are adjustable!

superspark
Last couple of outings I have placed the magnet up close to the hide about 15 yards out and a horse shoe pattern out past that. Had many birds fly by, turn and fly right up to the magnet where we shot them on approach. Left one or two to see what they would do. Several flew up and hovered around the magnet for some time. Couldn't believe just how close they were coming in. Quite cool really.
