stuy
Found a promising field of wheat stubble full of pigeon, on an amazing flight line had my biggest day here about 5 years ago, 400 birds BUT its right next to the SAS camp and spoke to the people concerned and the guys are on red alert! The amount of machine gun fire and small arms fire they are really putting in some practice so will give that one a wide birth! Being laid up for 5 weeks , but now can drive so been looking for a mate to give him a day been hard lots of birds spread all over , each field has a few on it, cutting beans this week may do good on them . ditchman
If you wanted to commit suicide you could set up your hide with a sign saying " ISAL"....fun day ...and start banging about... oh...further to my foray the other day and my excellent cartridge average.......i had another little session today...and im not divulging my average....but what i will say is the shooting was intersperssed with an awful lot of profanity....... Blunderbuss
The military can't stop you shooting on private land where you have permission even if it does border MOD property. And to be honest I suspect a humble pigeon shooter is not high up on their priorities. Tell the MOD plod out of politeness if you feel the need, but get the decoys out! stuy
I thought that also! But two of their guys come onto the estate to cull deer, and are tidy blokes and have a close tie to the estate so when the commander of the camp asks a favour they comply, security is at the moment very high indeed

kent
If you cant work with the neighbours you generally loose the shooting sooner or later in my experience
The Juicer
A open carry shotgun shooter outside the fence is no issue to them, it's the concealed carry jumping over the fence. They shouldn't be concerned when they r letting rip themselves with a field hunter. I used to shoot in a field across the road from a local army camp. A returning helicopter would sometimes come in close for a look, we'd just hold up our fac and not run!
