NickB65
To cut a long story short and to keep it to the point I spent the whole of Saturday looking for the elusive PIGEON and I ended up ONE for two shots..... The first field which I the farmer said was rammed with Pigeons was like an oasis of nothingness..... the rape was just coming through, the pheasant were all over the place and there was one or two pigeons in the air but they were going from A to B and NOTHING was going to detract them. So after two hours I tried the hill..... and the same. One or two in the air but they were going from A to B and nothing could tempt them to deviate. This was getting silly so I changed tack and went back to the back of the farm where there are always pigeons...... YUP you guessed it was the same. Oh they were around but they went from A to B and nothing tempted them. I tried everything from bouncers, magnets, wobblers, U shape L shape big groups little groups...... The farmer came over to join me as I was packing up and we sat there and watched them.... He was amused and we jawed for a bit..... Same this morning but I was rewarded with some lush blackberries so I did not care. Great to get out and be part of it but there are times when it would be nice to have a little emote action. Total for the weekend .... two for three shots.......

pigeon controller
If they were going A to B and would not be distracted could you not get either to A or B and shoot them or at least under the flight line? Other that that drive around and find them and ask

We have six bale hides on the flight lines but just the wrong ones this time...... Good to get out though.

Wilts#Dave
I think what PC is getting at is you need to try and gain permission where the pigeons are actually going to or from, even if that isn't on your permission.....if you only shoot one farm it's unlikely you'll regularly get good sport unfortunately, ideally try and ask a few more farmers, just to shoot for an afternoon on a specific field (good way to start).
