If you wanted to know an answer to a question you may have, please could you have a search for it near the top of the forum index. If you cannot find what you are looking for then post a topic asking for help.

Lately i have noticed a lot more questions that are very similar like "which pellets to use in my gun?", im sure others will also have noticed.

Im just putting this thread up just to try to make it a bit easier. :P:good:

I did mention the fact that these things could be pinned at the top but I don't know if that will happen. Just a brief description of individual "common topics"

e.g. .177/.22, ammo, quarry, shooting in gardens etc etc.

Axe has pinned the "code of practice" but not had that many view on. Maybe somthing else is needed.

Do you mean posts like this Beatingisbest?

We were all new here at some time or another. Show a little tolarance. Not everyone on here has been taught how to use computers in school. Infact, I would say most of the older members are doing pretty well, considering that they have had no training whatsoever. People will find the search facility, but as DI said it is sometimes a lot better to interact with people.

All Forums suffer from the, "Frequently Asked Question" syndrome.

Pinned items and the Search facility, doesn't seem to be the answer, as people tend to ask first and look second.

Some don't even read the Rules they sign up to, when registering on the Forum.

The population of Forums changes and turns over all the time, as people join and others visit less often.

New members should ask their questions and if existing members think they have been asked before and don't want to respond, they don't have to.

I realise that there isnt anything like this at the moment, so i thought it would be good if people knew they could search past topics

I totally agree, Lets face it we are all learning all the time :D and there are new products entering the market all the time, if you can give some one your oppinion on a topic then all well and good, thank you.

I have enjoyed many hours looking through and replying to peoples questions and answers, but peoples views, attitudes and equiptment changes all the time. we all experement and it is good to share our findings.

If the recipes section had a pinned rabbit recipie a pinned pigeon recipie and so on it would be pointless looking in there any more once you had seen them.

It is good to comunicate and share our views findings and i must say that I do find it off putting when people say "this has been done to death DO A SEARCH"

just my opinion.

lets not go static KEEP ASKING THE QUESTIONS FOLKS, Some one will help you out thats why we keep attracting the new members :yp:

kipper

I can see your point but in answer to your statements.......

1. Instead of reopening past arguements you can direct the person to the pinned article, anything not covered in it can then be asked.

2. That's life and I guess i am as guilty as the next person.

3. This can be due to stupid threads being gone over and over and over again. (1177 v .22 :D )

4. Not having questions answered (or directed to pinned topics :yp: ) can lead to members getting the impression we are "aloof"

Just my 2 pence worth.
