fat_jay
Anyone in to this, like a bit of scudding down the beach!! Went out at the weekend, it was far too windy, and mainly used my face as a break!! Still blowing sand out of my hooter!! Thinking of buying a new kite and a buggy now, anyone have any experience? HDAV
I used to windsurf around the time they just started getting popular never tried it but would like to, I would say try it first get a couple of lessons as it can be quite dangerous. Any wind powered activity is drought with still days, gale days, etc. there are quite a few clubs soay be worth finding a local one. I fancy trying para motor which is similar but you strap an engine to your back and fly around on a parachute type wing
activeviii
I use to build buggy's. Race them, free style. Make kites. Been then got to many t-shirt and smashed up to many times. Use to race with Yakuza's. Free style with blade mk4. Teach with rages and imps. Had gin race kites but didn't like them. Spend thousands on it all. I'll try and find a few photos later

loriusgarrulus
I always wanted to hang gliding. Used to see them on the hills somewhere near Edale.
Mentalmac
We used to do this when it was too windy for my catamaran... My friend had a flexifoil blade II I think it was called. Great fun but a little scary, and qute amusing when a macho friend would grab the handles and not understand the power arc and end up smashing nose on floor... Paddy Galore!
I've got a half decent 3/4 stunt kite, sitting in the corner, feel a bit daft taking it out now.
activeviii
It use to be flexifoil forum but I think it change to kite crowd. Paddy its where I cut my teeth. My dad was apart of peter Powell kites so it was a sort of progression. It always makes me laugh when you say to people you fly power kites as they look at you like your a train spotter type. Stick them on a 3 Meyer rage and watch them laughter like big kids. Strongest wind I ever flew in was 44mph. I couldn't hole a 1.1 prototype I had built. It was the only time I was ever truly bricking myself. Flew for 2 hours and then bottled it. Locked into a 60kg buggy doing 50 mph and still towing sideways was not good.
