guinty1
Are midway uk connected to midway usa? The reason I ask is I have been looking at browning DS chokes on the net and they are $48 (just under 30 quid when converted) in Midway US but when you look them up in MIdway uk they are £65 just over double the price, . Subaru_sti5
Yes they are and us site doesn't deliver to the uk. Midwayuk tend to be expensive anyway so try looking elsewhere first. Atb
mikejt
I found this looking at the mec 600jr converted price was a lot cheaper from midway usa than midway UK (live £150-200 difference from memory) Funny enough I was talking about that in our club last Tuesday. Why so much difference? Is there a middle man collecting the extra? Or is it the store? I understand that it costs to import goods but so much extra is ridiculous. Surely they ship in bulk. I had a rifle stock shipped from boyds in the states and that cost me $65 ish plus £18 import duty. Yet i was told if an rfd tried to get some, they wouldn't be able to get them shippped for that price?
aris
20% of the price difference is VAT and you pay that on the total invoice price including shipping. The rest is profit and risk.

Dave-G
ISTR everything you buy from Midway UK is shipped from Midway USA - at a fixed shipping price. So a small order is quite expensive but a large order about average to other UK stores. UK prices will always be a lot higher than US prices because of the higher cost of living - and 'penalties' for doing business here.
The Juicer
I ordered from brownells and got stung on import tax, wiped out the saving I was making. Thanks customs. Edited September 29, 2014 by The Juicer

39TDS
I have had a few things off Midway, I find their service very good. Postage is on the dear side of things but it is clearly stated before you commit to buying and as said, it often comes from USA. I bought a firing pin, it is about the size of a big matchstick and made of metal. It arrived rattling around in a box that you could probably have fitted about 10,000 of them in it. Maybe they don't have the Jiffy padded envelope things over there. I think the point of Midway is that they will sell you stuff you can not buy elsewhere in this country.
