White Diamond

Hi,

I have just bought a 12g O/U called a White Diamond. I was just wondering if anyone had any info on them.

The only markings on the gun, (other than proof markings) are the "White Diamond" name one the underside of the action, and the initials WD on the side of the action.

Google of white diamond + shotgun + 12g ect ect brings up a lot of hits, but mainly for the white diamond cartridge range.

Seem that the manufauture could be Silma but have seen references to Betinsolli (but think this is just a mix up with their diamond line of guns, as the ones I have seen of their have either the name for a bird on the action.)

Cheers for any help or info

Winchester did a Diamond O/U!

If it's a plain (non blacked action) it COULD be seen as a White Diamond??

How about a pic?

The wood on it is the best in the cab at the moment, and there is 7 in there again <_<

Its a good looking gun and seems to handle Ok, I have no probs with name fetishes (if the gun fits use it).

My game gun is a 12g SLE from a maker called ARM, but haven't seen another gun from this maker either, but have had it 20 years and its still going fine

PS LG where abouts are you going fishing in dumfries ?

Not sure yet it will be one if 3 lochs we frequent round the Dumfries Loch maben area.

Done Loch Ken 3 times now and evertime a loss :( so i tend to stick to the smaller lochs now and have never had a miss yet on the others.

And of course NOW i have just shot myself in the foot <_<

Trev,

I had one of those, also had really good timber on it. I bought it from Avalon and they told me that they were made by Silma. Never had any problems with mine in the four years I had it but I have heard that some are prone to double discharging. I think it's due to the barrel selector in the trigger blade wearing.

Ho Ho Ho

Look at this , replying to a thread 3 years old.. :good:

They were indeed made in Italy by the silma factory and inported in the late 80s by Diamond Guns....

And personally quality controlled, packed and tested by me.....

Very good guns, and loads going strong to this day.....

Parts still available if needed, stocks too.....

Back in the day they sold for £295.00 fixed choke, £350 ish for M/C and £495 i think for gun with 28 and 30 inch barrels....

Brings back memories.... :good:

hi just picked up a nice white diamond second barrel prone to not fireing although cocked I take it these are recoil set guns anyone know any quick fixes before I take it to the gunsmiths

Any one of several things from dried up oil stopping the action working correctly ,to light a load cartridges, operator error [not holding on hard enough or not releasing the trigger fully ] and about a half dozen more things that I outlined in a previous post on the same subject.   " Estimate for gun repair"
