Incidentally on the topic of corvids, I know first hand the damage of these grey crows, but you do have to respect them, very intelligent birds. I think you can see in one of your photos a cockle, they often drop these from great heights onto rocks in order to get the bits inside, requires quite a bit of aiming from 40 foot up to hit a rock using only gravity!
