Hey guys,

Forget the last minute carbs, you should all be tucked up in bed by now with a mug of low fat cocoa, and a word of warning to the wife / partner / rent boy, not to try anything funny tonight as you'll need all of your energy for tomorrow..!! :good::good::wub:

Shoot well guys, computer predicted scores will be online at 11.40.

And don't forget, it's only a game, none of us will ever be able to earn our living at shooting clays, and if Suffolk Shooters gun does end up in the lake, I'll be £150 better off, courtesy of Mungler..!! :yp:

Don't forget to post those actual scores tomorrow night..!!

Cat.

Well I am all set,

Up bright and breezy, nice refreshing walk out with the dog first thing. Nice cuppa tea and then a relaxing session in the armchair.

Double check that everything is in the car, all that is left is a visit to the garage for some diesel and next stop is the cafe.

And I hope that we upset your score predictions today :good::good::good:

Right folks, as I type this the guys will be on Stand 1 greasing up their weapons and thinking, "God, how am I gonna hit that..!! ;) "

So here are the predicted scores that have been calculated scientifically using a number of known factors. No adjustment has been made for weather, as it's superb for Clays, i.e. overecast and no wind.

Jonesy's Prediction:

Pin 118

Suffolk Shooter 104

Mungler 98, yes 98, you know who your friends are..?? :good:

Tosspot 150

Martin Cavie 144

Stealth Stalker 96

Cat's Prediction:

Pin 122

Suffolk Shooter 108

Mungler 132, I've got confidence in you..!! :good:

Tosspot 142

Martin Cavie 148

Stealth Stalker 114

Apologies to anybody else who's shooting today and not on the list.

We await the actual scores with interest. :good:

You're talking about the breakfast right? :good:

Would have liked to have been a spectator today but it wasn't worth a day off work. Looking forward to hearing about it and the scores.

And Jonsey, you're really mean! :good:

A great day all told. Too knackered to do a full update now - beer and curry time.

However, after a poor start of 61 on the first round, I got my eye in and put in a 69 on the second round, total score of 130 (which I think was joint second with PIN, behind the boy Tosspot who won the PW trophy on a hundred and fortysomething).

Cat, I am sorry I let you down by 2... but PIN knows his real score was 129 - he slept with some old trapper who "gave him one" (he said it not me) when one of PIN's clays hit a tree followed 10 seconds later with a clattering of shot. :good:

Cracking day out, quality **** taking (isn't that right salad boy?) and some very deceptive targets.

I don't want to talk about the pool shoot though :good:

As to the real score being 129, well, we will see what they make of that - it makes up for the chip you lot wouldn't give me at lakenheath :good:

Didn't quite it 70% for the first shoot, but did more than 50% for the harder one so happy with that. By stand 4I was in such a bad mood I was considering going and sitting in the car, easy crossing targets and I dropped 9, and then 8 or something. Must have shot the rest of it well come to think of it, to get 68 in the end :good:

StealthStalker shot a blinder, I persuaded him to leave the semi-auto behind and I think it paid off, extremely well done mate!

Looking forward to the English and the British now

I finished the day on 122,

62 on the green course and 60 on the black. Overall it was a blinding day and good fun was had by all. I am disapointed with my performance especially on the last half of the black course.

I had Mungler in my sights and should have kept up with Pin and Stealth stalker.

Never mind there is always the next one.

I shot about 10% below my average and definetly need to work on rangey targets as well as low dropping crossers.

I have some photo's which I will download now and post later.

I think the targets which caused me the most problems were these crossing dropping targets which I don't see, or have not seen, many of.

They looked easy and they were, easy to miss :good:

There were some cracking scores, I don't know if that 195 was a wind up or not, if it isn't that's quite something. 130 seems to be around the bottom third of what most B class shooters were doing - so I am happy with that.

It must be a wind up as when we were walking back (for the first time for me that is) Neville from Essex Gun was talking about the shoot off between the Digweed and Faulds and how their scores just won't be beaten. Indeed, having shot it, I am amazed that anyone could put in more than 190 (full stop).

The level of skill and concentration required to shoot the scores big G and Richard put in is nothing short of phenomenal. Probably more so the second round score of 98 Richard knew he had to put in just to force a shoot-off is astonishing.

Full of admiration for those guys.

Well Cat,

I let you down big time, not only did I not get anywhere near yours and Jonsey's predictions (Cheers for the faith though) I didn't get out of my pram and throw the gun in the lake, but as I predicted I didn't come last either, although I have to admit after a good start on the first two stands and then a blank on stand three, I felt like it. But I gave my self a good talking to and carried on bravely.

Shot a 32  on the green course, and just couldn't get into the swing of things at all.

Decided to enjoy the day, and as Pin said the banter was outrageous, and I'd like to say here and now that I can't think of a better bunch of guys to shoot with than those today. Cheers lads :good:

Shot a 45 on the black course, although got off to a flyer shooting 21 ex 26 on the first three stands and then the wheels came off again.

Strange thing this clay shooting, some of the guys found some (not many) birds difficult and yet I managed to hit them ok, but those that you think you really ought to hit I couldn't. Still had a good day regardless.

PS no excuses were heard by me all day, although Pin reckons that I wasn't in the zone owing to the salad that got dished up with my Sausage/Mushroom buttie in the Cafe. Apparently you need to get the cholesteral buzzing round the system :good:

Good Weather, Good mates, Good laughs and a desire to return next year and better this years score.

Almost forgot, cheers Mungler for the Pigeon Watch Baseball caps which had our Forum names on the front. Never had so many people look at us in one day before. ;)

I must say that there was no real quote of the day but everything was refered to as "Cheeky" starting out with a cheeky fry up in the cafe to using cheeky no. 6 cartridges on the rabbits .

A special thank you should really go to Mungler for supplying the personal head wear specially for the occasion.

I must say now I have seen these photo's that Tosspot looks really happy with his silverware :good: £4 off E BAY, what did you expect? the family silver :good::good:

Cheers Guys

Damn I forgot about the photos :good::good:

The real banter was me and Pin, and me trying to use Cat type mindgames to psych him out, hence the Alan Partridgelike nipple rub photo.

CHEEKY one that.

Have to say as well I thought the event was very well organised, right upto the point when we were on the last stand and this almighty scream/shout of obscenities went up. We all turned to see the organisers grand kids driving in a golf buggy type quad right behind the hedgeline of the clay stands currently in use ???:D;) Could have been a severely nasty accident, but luckily shooters on the stand stopped to see what the noise was as well, so this was avoided.

Oh yeah one other moan, the trapper lad going around filling the traps, was doing it whislt clays were being thrown out from them on the top of the two from behind off the tower and then ran to a trap behind the hedge when guys were shooting one stand as we walked back for lunch :lol:

Otherwise a superb event :good:

Markio,

What you mean is why is SS looking like a paedophile?

Oi, that's abit too far, after all I took the youngest PW team member home safely and he's probably tucked up in bed by now, and before you say it not mine either :good:

SS (AKA Salad Boy) :good:

Well you have got to admit you do look a bit odd in the shot where you a nipple rubbing. And it was you who said that you always have sweets in your car.

:good:;):lol::D
