everycal
When I went to Midland Gamefair, and a few others, there is a company that sell brand new "copies" of military smocks, gore tex coats etc. I can't find them for the life of me. Does anyone know who they are? Been searching for them a few days and no closer. Does anyone know who I mean?
loriusgarrulus
Not sure about the name of the one at the Midland, but if you look Anchor Surplus they do unissued and used real army military clothes. They have branches in Ripley and Nottingham and have a website with mail order. The Ripley one is open Sundays too. http://www.anchorsupplies.com/home
mickeylove
Are you thinking of country covers/ arktis?
foosa
Yep, country covers, they do copies of the old style military kit. I got one of their smocks at the midland, happy with it so far, water proof, windproof and comfortable to wear.
HW682
Country covers is who I was thinking of as well. As mentioned above, the military style kit is sold under the Arktis brand http://www.arktisltd.co.uk/protective-apparel/
spandit
According to the chap on the Country Covers stand at a show a couple of years ago, Arktis don't sell to the public so the Dancam smock I had must have been branded Country Covers. I maintained that it was Arktis and he said the only way that could be if I was issued it in the special forces. I said nothing (but I'd bought it from an army surplus shop in Exeter)
