Suffolk shooter
Right, seeing as I am the first one home and online to put what happened in print. I'll make the start. Firstly thanks to all the following who turned up: - Mungler, Louis Valentine, Tosspot, Pin, Farmerguy.22, Martin Cavie, Stealth Stalker, BTMS and Simonp. It was nice to meet a couple of new faces and see some old (And my god they've aged since October ), faces. The weather was great for us, blue skies, sun out and not to much of a breeze, although temperature could have been a little bit warmer. Well the minute myself MC and FG.22 arrived (Last ones there, DOH), the banter started to flow, the P was taken out of everyone and everything and generally set the tone for the day. We split into two teams of five. The A team being: - MC, FG.22, LV, Mungler and myself The Rejects (Oops sorry meant to type B team) being: - TP, Pin, Stealth Stalker, BTMS and Simonp We started off on the Skeet Range and the Men from A team took on the quicker and harder targets of the NSSA skeet range, whilst the girlies took on the ESK. Scores form the Skeet for A team were: - FG.22 - 23 ex 25 (First time he's ever shoot skeet too) MC and Mungler both 20 ex 25 Me 17 ex 25 and LV 14 ex 25 Someone from the wussies will have to give their scores on here later, as they didn't give them to me. Next we went on to the Compact Sporting whilst the pansies went and started on the Sporting proper. Didn't last long though as the labelling of the traps was absolutely diabolical and so after two stands each we went and started the sporting proper. We did 18 of the 19 stands there (One of them being closed), and decided to do 6 on each stand. Scores for these are as follows: - MC shot an absolutely blinding round, straighting 9 of them to end on 88 ex 108 Mungler "this is gay, use the force, Hommmmm" scored 76 ex 108 despite repeated efforts by us all telling him to "BE THE CLAY" I managed to throw away a two bird lead over Mungler on the last stand to score 75 ex 108, little thanks to the calls for a recount from Mungler after MC passed comment, cheers mate, won't let you forget that one FG.22 shot a creditable 64 ex 108, not having shot clays for some time, (So he tells us anyway ) LV shot 51 ex 108, but can be excused because "I've only had my licence a week", and "they don't sell sparkling perrier here " We ended the day with two rounds of DTL (If that's what it was as we're not sure ) Mungler managed three rounds 1st round 58 ex 75, 2nd round 58 ex 75 and the third round between him and MC (MC's second round) 39 ex 75 I scored 1st round 43 ex 75 and 2nd round 59 ex 75 FG.22 scored 1st round 53 ex 75 and 2nd round 55 ex 75 MC shot 53 ex 75 and his round againest Mungler 37 ex 75 LV only shot one round and scored 26 ex 75 So overall working on Birds shot to kills totals the overall scores for Team A were SS 128 ex 183 (70% hit) Mungler 132 ex 208 (63% hit) MC 139 ex 183 (76% hit) (81% on the sporting alone) FG.22 126 ex 183 (69% hit) LV 74 ex 158 (47% hit) Once again guys thanks very much for a great day, I look forward to the next one down on the Sarf coast region. Note to all those that said they were going to come and then didn't, YOU MISSED A GREAT DAY SS

Markio
Nice read mate. MC looked like he was well on one then! All very respectable score for everyone none the less, far better than i could have hoped for. Glad it was a good day. I'm actually going clay shooting myself tomorrow. It'll be the first time i've fired my gun since we went to Braintree before the new year! Cash flow sucks at the mo.

Cat. Cat, I know. I have no excuses other than we did it first before anything else, but still I was **** Now I have had the Sporter/Game stock fitted, i will get the skeet gun done too. Trouble is I can't blame it on that, as I used the fitted sporter I say, It's rather quiet on here, where is everyone??? I put the sandbags up, tin hat on and yet nothing from any of them Shame you couldn't make it today MC might have given you a run for your money, mind you I heard that TP and BTMS shot pretty well, although I can't confirm they scores. SS Ah, I see them queueing up below to have a pop now. Take Cover

BTMS
Pin hopefully will tell all with the cards. The B Team (Best) shot with the force We had a good shoot, the banter was excellent. The first half for myself was good but then went drastically wrong on the ssecond part (old age) lack of practice/laughter, sun F16s or by all account big planes all technicvally explained by pin (this guy is a faunt of all knowledge -respect!!! ) we saw a buzzard? rabbits phezzies a muntjac or was it a hare or was it a badger There is a specific radar that I would die for the burger van radar TP and Pin both shot like pros.......... None mentioned the LADY in red boots though LB you would have been embarassed by the language on the second round it was definetley NOT choir boy standard. A cracking day. pin
It was me that spotted the flange and pointed it out! Sheesh! Need my eyes testing, or less drugs, the muntjack I saw in the morning turned into a rabbit then a hare! I have no idea what any of those planes were, I just put on an official sounding voice and made it all up

Need my eyes testing, or less drugs, the muntjack I saw in the morning turned into a rabbit then a hare! I have no idea what any of those planes were, I just put on an official sounding voice and made it all up I think you'll find that they're F-15's or F18's. We saw a Black Hawk Helicoptor as well, Pheasant's, squirrels et al. The flange as you called her had lovely red knee length boots on didn't she!!! pin
I was really telling the truth about the aircraft, I was trying to hide my air cadets past with my sad knowledge of these things What the hell you all know I am a geek Next time I think we crash at the hotel, get back in there to find out who the lass in the red boots was and have a **** up
MC
Well I will be the saddo, The BIG planes were F - 15E Strike Eagles, It was a Blackhawk Helicopter and the plane that looked like the ones that you go on holiday on was a KC 135 stratotanker. There thats got the nerdy bit out of the way, and the only thing left to say is, NER NER NE NER NER You lot shot like girls. Seriously you did, I had an excellent day and I have got a glowing face, not sure if that is the sun, wind or the few stella's I have downed. Cheers guys it was an excellent day. pin
Well I will be the saddo, The BIG planes were F - 15E Strike Eagles, It was a Blackhawk Helicopter and the plane that looked like the ones that you go on holiday on was a KC 135 stratotanker. There was an appearance by a longbow too, as well as a British lynx. Two of the f15's I saw were the C variant with the new AESA radar. Bang on with the kc135's I think they were kc135T's by the sound, that variant has upgraded power plants retrofitted. Sad, isn't it
MC
Now that is sad PIN, I admit to knowing the names but as to what radar was fitted you are definetly on your own in geekland. A british lynx?? I thought it was a muntjac
pin
Oi! It was at a funny angle, and I thought it was further away than it was, and it was pretending to be a deer

pin
A british lynx?? It was an army one, didn't land just came past. Did you guys in the other squad see the F15 that came clattering down the runway about 200 feet and then went vertical with full afterburners? Very impressive
Mungler
Blummin good day and blummin good laugh. MC shot out of his skin on the ESP and FG22 a skeet champ in the making. SS - admiring MC's thirty two inches against his stiff semi. LV - cooking a peacock would need a really really big oven to get the bird in SS - being a quantity surveyor who can't add up for **** (Edit and who added up and posted the DTL scores wrong) Deffo on for the next one. A really good day made better by the weather.

MC
I am well up for the next one, in all fairness to the guys that travel (Lakenheath is hardly on my doorstep) I think it should be be down your neck of the woods. Horne was mentioned today, as was A1 Shooting ground. Any more suggestions welcome.
ME
Burger van radar is just a case of using "the force" - hommmmmm - be the burger !! Horne was mentioned today, as was A1 Shooting ground. Any more suggestions welcome. If you mean the A1 on the A1 in herts, I wouldn't bother. Very much a ZZ/trap club with sporting loosly stapled on the side (just my view). Its incredibly close to me, I could probably walk there in about 30 mins from my house - better would be Broomhills if down this way... I think the next one should be a bit closer to tosspot, down sarf coast way
Mungler
Make it Brighton, Matt can bring his poodle and he can show us around - he knows his way round a back alley or two down there.

simonp
Just wanted to say thanks to the chaps (bloody good bunch they were) for letting me tag along, gunless. Thanks to Pin and BTMS for the lend of their guns and the advice from TossPot and BTMS will help a lot. Bloody hell they're good .... ;-) (Pins not bad either but *** don't tell him ) I started well on the skeet and sporting stands, but then started to "think" a little too much, oh well :-D Kept hitting the 2nd hard birds after missing the easy 1st ones, oh well Thanks all, hope you had a good full day and a "quiet" evening Sorry I had to ****** off, but we have our 21week scan at the hospital today and missing it wasn't an option :-) edit: cross post, but now in the right thread Si. Mungler
Simon, sorry you couldn't make the full day and even more sorry you got lumbered with the B team as I understood that you were keen to see some proper shooting and so must have had a wasted day. pin
The "B" squad apologise that they could only demonstrate 83% of targets hit over nearly 100 more clays - it won't happen again simon
