KFC
So I don't divert the Polecat thread. They also had an article on the Hen Harrier project with input from BASC and putting the Gamekeeper's side. The RSPB spokesman was virtually incomprehensible with his waffle and completely failed, in my opinion, to answer the questions put to him and he again made unsubstantiated suggestions that the whole shooting community is persecuting Bop. Made a change for the beeb to appear to report on our point of view for a change and have a spokesman from BASC.
TIGHTCHOKE
Yes I noticed that it was surprisingly unbiased!
kingo15
Yeah they definitely seemed to be on the shooter/gamekeepers side of this argument. The rspb bloke was set in his ways and adimeant that we all are the same. That was my take on the situation anyway.
JDog
Same old unsubstantiated drivel from the RSPB. It became clear that the RSPB is resisting the new attempts to put a Hen Harrier recovery plan into operation when one would have thought that they would agree to almost anything to increase numbers. Jay_Russell
At last countryfile/bbc putting an unbiased debate together. You could see the genuine passion and excitement for the harriers from the basc guy. I think the RSPB showed themselves to be a little onetracked and uncooperative with other groups
digger
RSPB were made to look as daft as they are. spokesman made himself look very silly in his closing statement.
Scully
Look at it from the point of view of the RSPB. If shooters come on board as good guys the RSPB can't claim raptors are persecuted. Don't they need an enemy, and therefore a cause, to generate income and support? If no one is persecuting raptors and it is revealed all is well, revenue will dry up. Edited November 23, 2014 by Scully
