fog horn
Hi Guys has anyone got any expirence of the Daystate X2 .177? Ive never really heared of them before are they anygood or avoid? Any help would be great Thanks chaps..
Longbower
I recently had one in.22 flavour. I found it to be a good quality accurate rifle. Just a little too heavy for me to hump around the fields , and that's the only reason I sold it, and got an S410 Carbine.Other than that I would have loved to have kept it. fog horn
Cheers mate i guess all Daystates are good rifles.. anyone else got a opinion on them chaps?
evo
the daystate x2 is one of the older daystates, very accurate, no major reliability issues, but you can pick them up pretty cheap nowadays, certainly not a rifle to be overlooked, you would normally be able to pick one up between £350-450 depending on condition but they are a cracking rifle, as said above a little on the heavy side but nothing out the ordinary atb Evo
fog horn
Ok right well a friend of a guy i work with at work is selling one for £280 bug i was thinking of.getting the new Walther rotex r8 so not sure what to go for folks
Zetter
I would go for the Daystate mate if it look ok and hasn't been abused. I have the Merlyn in FAC (basically an X2 regulated in a fancier stock) and its a blooming tack driver. For that money your saving, about £100 on the Walther which you could put towards a scope or a dive bottle if you need one and be getting a better gun in my opinion. secretagentmole
You want to know what they are like in .177? Might I introduce the one I owned? Dr Syn! The most accurate rifle I have ever owned! The thing spat laser guided pellets! Build quality was great, never went wrong whilst I owned it, was accurate, enabling 70 metre shots that were bang on target (using a Hawke MAP 6 scope and a Combro enabled very accurate shot profiling). Dr Syn in his natural environment! 10 shot group at 35 metres open air off bipod! Great rifle, basically became the Mk 3 when they put the electronic trigger on it! fog horn
So a little bit good then this one is the shorter barrell one.. dont know if that makes a difference chaps? Know it might seem silly but i always think a old rifle has seen lots of use and might be wearing silly i know!
secretagentmole
Not really, but servicing is not that expensive if you find a Daystate accredited service agent. A full Daystate service on my rifle was £200 + parts + carriage, my local RFD who is a Daystate accredited service agent £45 plus parts! Zetter
Where are you in the world Fog Horn as there are quite a few daystate registered service agency throughout the uk. Even as Mole said you thrown in a £50 service to change the seals its still a billy bargain.
evo
Ok right well a friend of a guy i work with at work is selling one for £280 bug i was thinking of.getting the new Walther rotex r8 so not sure what to go for folks put it this way,,if you don't want it,can I have first refusal, as mole said accurate ,well built, and you would be a fool to buy the rotex instead, Daystate rifles are built with the best components and are built to last, dont get me wrong some people have had problems with daystates as with any other gun but for build quality you wont get any better for that money but as said if you don't want it tell him I,ll have it cheers Evo

blasterjudd
Hi righto go and buy the X2 !!!!!!! I own a mint X2 in .177 flavour and so does my buddy there spot on for accuracy and quality build guns. Mine is a one off special Prestige model with Gary Cane thumbhole walnut stock it's lovely! I only bought it this year and could not resist it as it's like new the fella that owned it from new was a Daystate collector and it just sat in his cabinet for a few years unused, best buy I have made so far on a pcp and I have owned a few in my time but rest were .22 ! I strongly recommend you buy it over any new guns it won't let u down. I've shot some really long range woodies and rabbits as the .177 has very little pellet drop at long range. Hi Guys has anyone got any expirence of the Daystate X2 .177? Ive never really heared of them before are they anygood or avoid? Any help would be great Thanks chaps.. fog horn
You guys have convinced me it really does sound like the right gun for my needs, I would like to do afew tweeks here and there and maybe get a custom stock also its a regulated beast so all the better shame is though its that orrible black stock they fitted some with which to me does drive down the price! Thats why im thinking a nice walnut custom stock from custom stocks to get her looking as nature intended! My plan was to use the gun as a work horse for my night vision but from what you chaps say she is a beauty
ShaggyRS6
Good choice. You will not regret it. Was gonna bring mine to the US but you need a bloody firearms licence in NJ for an Air Rifle
fog horn
Thats too bad shaggy :( Yeah I think ive made the right choice to be honest, as I said not one person has come back with a negative comment yet so thats good. . Shame it has that nasty black synthetic stock but I will wrap her in a nice custom chunk of walnut if I find its good as everyone is telling me. Only trouble now is getting it posted to me!! Westley
Just to make your decision that bit easier, I have had my X2 Carbine in .177 from new. It has now fired several thousand rounds and has been completely trouble free. It replaced my Daystate Huntsman because I wanted a multi shot. I got one of the first X2 in .177 carbine. Daystate only made .177 in standard length and were reluctant to put them out in .177 carbine, due to lack of shots from the shorter air chamber. This has not been a problem. If I have any criticism at all, it is the cost of the spare magazines. The rifle is every bit as accurate as my earlier Huntsman. I use Bisley magnums for all of my shooting. fog horn
Ok well just a little update guys.. i decided to go for the regulated .177 synthetic stock Daystate X2 with simmons 3-9x44 Scope, 10 shot magazine, single shot tray and fill adapter and transferred £280 into the fellas account, seems like a good deal too me from what you guys have said but im not to up on my Daystates!! Anyways if all turns out well I will be fitting her up with a custom thumbhole chunk of walnut and giving some TLC treatment If I can find out how to post pictures up I will do some before and after pictures folks

secretagentmole
Not when it was an X2, Hawke MAP scope, HW silencer, Harris 6-9 bipod, gun bag, 3 litre 300 bar tank and pellets too for £190 (the bloke needed the money for a new carriage for his horses - I kid you not)! It was about 4 years ago though!
