ditchman
been busy of late...cutting up and carting willow and stuff...... ...went off this morning..passed all my regular "scenes of death"....not a damn pigeon anywhere.....nothing flying about...that was 11 o'clock...then on the way back with the first load of wood...passing the same points......birds everywhere....every single rape field there were 50 or so birds wheeling around a central area....then went past a sugar beet field that had been lifted 2 days ago ...and there must have been 3-400 birds moving about on it...mixed in with a load of rooks... ...then on the return to pick up more spit wood.....NOTHING....where the heck they had gone god only knows...and that was about 2ish...... would love to have had the time to sit and watch then follow them...........keeping warm comes first tho'
JDog
Stop posing for the camera and either get on with chopping wood or go off decoying.
loriusgarrulus
Looks a nice lot of firewood. You get warm twice with it. Once in the chopping up and then again on the fire. Stop posing for the camera and either get on with chopping wood or go off decoying. Anybody would think you were married to him.

richg
I used to burn Willow on the fire, kept me real warm, mostly jumping about trying to stop the sparks setting fire to the carpet.

We used to have a spark guard of fine mesh when we had a wood fire.

12boreblue
It's a hard life...logging on in the morning and logging off in the evening. And then I have to pass the matches to the missus to light the fire. I need a holiday! :-))
