vulpinehunter
I am lucky enough to have permission on over 600 sections of private land in Montana USA.( a section is 640 acres) Out one morning last year aug 2013 and plotted up under a bush and on a hill with good views. Spotted four white tail deer running towards me about 1500-1900 yards away, ten minute later saw the cause a Coyote was walking the same track. I have good quality electronic caller but that was back at base! so I hand sueaked and in he came. The rush was greater than any thing I have ever shot, I guessed he would come over the ridge in front of me and dare not move at all,he went out of sight at about 300 yards and I moved by rifle(semi auto Ar 15 .223) on my Bogpod(rest) about ten inches to my right.....he came into the scope at about 160yards and I adjusted about one inch and let the 50 grain Noslier fly. It did not go far as it hit him straight in the chest he was dead as he fell did not even twitch! perfect. I had to go round the fingure like rocky outcrops and walked over 700 yards to get to him. As it happened he was not on any of "MY" land but on Goverment land where any one can shoot.....only in America!!!! Great trip and my third Coyote in photo two trips later and three more Coyotes have fallen to the AR15 next trip in Jan next year. Tital should have read "Last year" not this year my mistake chaps! vulpinehunter
poor thing .......looks like a dog... For goodness sake do not go over there and say such a thing you would not get back!! They kill 20% of calfs and sometimes 60% young deer and Elk
ollie
poor thing .......looks like a dog... You aren't serious? Surely they are a pest species that needs to be controlled the same as any other pest. Shouldn't matter what it looks like; in fact, I would say it looks more like a wolf.
