JDog
That is impressive bunny_blaster. However I feel that you will need legs on it. The single screw in stem will probably not hold up in a strong wind.

Merry Christmas Atb Dave I've had a few people ask where the motor came from but I've lost the link as I had to make a new ebay account since purchasing the motor some time ago. If I can source the motors at a decent price I'd be quite happy to make a few rotaries as it didn't take very long.

I've tried in vain to find a suitable motor on ebay, if you can't give the item number can you at least give the dimensions so I have an idea what I'm looking for. I assume you tried yours and found it adequate
Davyo
Been using these motors on my homemade flapper for a while now but 300 rpm, don't know If the gearing will be strong enough for a rotary. But for the price it's worth a shot. activeviii
eBay. I paid £14 posted for the same motor as used in the pinewood magnet. Just need to get round to making it Any chance of more details please. I'm on my 3rd motor for the pinewood now. OK it gets used 3-4 times a week in the heat of it. I order the motor direct from MTC combomotor but thy say that the motor was desighed for short burst, not 30+ minutes at a time. I didn't have the heart to tell him its all day. £14 or do able to replace but £38 is to much. Messed best laid plans on the weekend as it broke down 30 minutes after setting up. Guest stevo
Pinewood . Mine has never let me down . Works in ALL conditions. Very efficient motor . I have a 7amh 12 v battery and that will run my pinewood ALL day on full speed . . Its lightweight and takes 2 secs to set up . And i know i will get another 10 yrs plus out of it . Worth every penny . Ask yourself who are all the company's and "diy" people trying to copy ??
deny essex
I made one from an old light, 6 volt in line screwdriver, 3 section fixed arms, last section fibreglass composite for flexability, used with plastic decoys it lasted for 2 years before the bearings went. I have tried heavier in line screwdriver motors with planet gears useing the trigger unit as a speed controler and they can work, but can consume as much if not more battery power than a wiper motor. The stand I used was a fishing tripod. I now use one made from an old kids toy for hypa flaps, very light and runs on a 6 volt 7AH battery all day and has been used for 4 years, with some cord and pegs it also runs single arm which can be quite effective looking.
