Yorkshireandy
I am looking for a second had MEC 600 Jr press in 20g to start down the home loading route. I want to do this so I can load my own shells and give myself more options and better quality than the shop sells. I would like to load some subs for my mossy hushpower and fast steel loads for game and wildfowl (all in 20b) Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated. It doesnt seem too difficult to home load. Is it easy to change powder loads for for different carts?

For your steel loads you are better weighing and loading powder and shot by hand as the powder does not drop great and steel is less forgiving of variances. So get yourself a set of suitable scales. sitsinhedges
To be honest changing from recipe to recipe can be a bit of a pain. You need to make a decent batch of whatever you're going to use before you alter the settings and start on something else. I load 20 gauge and the biggest problem is finding good empties to refill but it is worth it with good savings to be made in this gauge. Yorkshireandy
Thanks for the advice guys. I wondered if it was a pain changing loads.after what you said I would do them in large batches rather than swapping and changing.

Floating Chamber
Changing presses for different loads? I abandoned this over 25 years ago and have presses dedicated to five different gauges and four different lengths within the gauge and bore range.....hence, 24 presses. Not bragging, but I have been reloading since 1962. Get into it.....not to save money....it is a passion.

Floating Chamber
What presses do you use floating chamber? I have given away or loaned a few recently to mates, (two LoadAlls, Redding Mod 32 and a 600Jr.), but I can count ten LoadAlls, two MEC 650s, a MEC 9000G, a Dueffe electric, two Lee Juniors and two Texan FWs. And a couple of 'specials' for .410. Edited January 5, 2015 by Floating Chamber
