Royboy
I've had my Beretta now for about 5 years and I'm probably a below average shot with it, I had side by sides before that and was probably a slightly better shot with them but still not great, anyway yesterday I was asked to shoot lastminite on my local shoot where I beat and had no gun so I borrowed a miroku and the gun felt great and I didn't miss much with it. I noticed that when I mounted the gun all I could see was the bead but on my Beretta I'm looking down on the bead. Anyway with out anybody looking at my gun could anybody tell me what kind of miroku I could get with a swap to my beretta ? It's a 31/2 inch chamberd silver pigeon, I beleive there's not many made with these chambers. It's a lovely clean gun with nice wood. I've not a clue about prices of mirokus Cheers
Alycidon
Sounds like its a gun fit issue, your Beretta by the sound of it is shooting high. The cast of most Mirokus that I have used ( 700,800, 3700HS) is different to 687s, as an average height 14 stone bloke the cast on the 687 fits me fine. The Miroku's always tended to shoot left. fruity
You could just have your Beretta fitted/altered rather than change ?
Royboy
I've mounted another miroku before and it felt good aswell This was a mk60 but it was fixed choke, I could do with multichoke realy so I can use steel
Royboy
You could just have your Beretta fitted/altered rather than change ? I have asked my local gunshop this but they said the stock can crack so not sure I want to chance it
fruity
I have asked my local gunshop this but they said the stock can crack so not sure I want to chance it Ahh right , I suppose it depends on the alterations , just seems a waste changing a gun if it can be fitted
oliver90owner
Alycidon has got it in one. Any gun can be ''OK'' if you alter your mounting stance to suit the gun, but far better in the long run to mount the gun into your natural shooting position - and that means getting measured up with a try gun and having your gun altered to those measurements. Expensive, but worth it. Likely cheaper than changing your gun, but depends on the gun. I had my SO2 altered thirty years ago and have never regretted it; possibly not worth the money for a cheaper gun if you were going to upgrade, but once you have those measurements from the try gun...... RAB You are right but it's just funny how the mirokus ive tryed have mounted perfect. I shall see.Malmos have a mk38 sporter in for £1100 so might go and have a butchers there
fenboy
I've mounted another miroku before and it felt good aswell This was a mk60 but it was fixed choke, I could do with multichoke realy so I can use steel The MK 70 is the multichoke version , I would say your g un will be worth around £1000 so you would pick up a very nice Miroku without needing to find any additional funds It would also be worth trying a browning 525 as they are pretty much the same gun. fenboy
Cheers Fenboy I'll keep a eye out If you shot a MK60 well you would perhaps be better going for a MK70 or Browning 525 rather than a MK38 as IIRC the drop at comb is different on the MK38 , the MK38 is a cracking gun for the money though as are all Mirokus

You would find a Browning 525 with a 3" chamber I am pretty sure if you shoot a Miroku well one of those should fit you better that the Beretta , If you were closer I have a 325 you could have had a try with.
