fishot
A newbie so please be kind...... I managed a few shots on rape on Sunday but like many others I've read about I'm suffering from the birds having lots of fields to pick from and therefore not getting any consistent shooting - the odd group come over , some decoy and I get a few shots, then quiet for half an hour or so etc. IF it snows is there any advantage for me in that i can uncover a section to decoy over and the birds will have less options or am I just kidding myself? The rape is not a crop as such as its grown in after last years crop and will be ploughed in anyway so no harm in brushing it?
la bala
I have swept snow off rape many years ago and it worked. It was a hard snap and on reflection some would say unsporting. But it is pest control, give it a go.
JimLondon
I've heard of some people laying a spare camo net on the snow and placing your decoys on top
pigeon controller
In the passed I have shot birds on swept areas and laid camo net . This was after a week of laid snow . I think that you have to wait a few days as they seem to get " Snow Blindness" and do not decoy on recent snow in my opinion.

That's the truth only had good bags sweeping the snow off after at least 3 days of cover, Do not think this will happen this year.
