digger
I went paint balling on Sunday for the first time and what a good laugh it was. Good safety briefing before we went out and the day just got better, top weather for it. 50 grown men running around the woods playing soldiers and spending most of the time taking it dead seriously. Managed to hit more people than got me but shots to hit ratio was like roost shooting. Most important thing I learnt was at 39 I cant run around like I used to, going upstairs is ok but coming down my thighs are screaming. High point was winning a twenty minute sniping contest against my mate, low point was saying " we`ll have another box of 2000 please " for the third time
dweeb
Used to do a bit a few years ago. Great laugh but it can hurt and it can be expensive.
Ferret Master
When I went a few months back I wore gloves to protect my fingers. I also found a rugby shirt, with a jumper on that, with my camo jacket on that with their camo jacket on that helped protect me from any pain. FM
Cyber
LOL, I used to have a paintball gun but it was too expensive to keep it!! I can remember watching a video on the net of some idiots firing frozen (yes frozen) paintballs at eachother and one got hit on his fingers, actually breaking one of them!!! (the post above with the gloves reminded me of this! lol)
naddan28
I did it at school once, was good laugh apart from the fact that I got shot 3 times each by women on my team (they should have been americans) ! I learnt not to shoot until people where within around 20yds in wooded areas as its nie on imposs to place the paintballs throu trees. Hoping to convince my uni mates to go but apparently I have an unfair advantage cos i shoot! lol, an air rifle is a bit different to paintballing! wickedandlazee
Speaking of paintball I love the bit in the dirty sanchez movie where they con pritchard into beleiving there is a world record of 102 for being hit by paintballs. They then proceed to fire 103 at him - he had some serious wounds after that, even better was his face when they told him there was no such thing
reedbradshaw
paintballings good, but not as good as air softing. airsofting uses ex issue guns which have been converted in to fast firing electric bb guns i think they fire at 400 fps (think) and around 12-15 a second fully auto range is only about 25 yard but great fun and you just dont take your finger off the trigger untill they are wincing on the floor. i used a AK, a G36 and a MP5 was amazing, some lads took it way to seriously with all the spec ops gear on and radios! they had snipers with scopes on i think the were steyr scouts. i tried telling one chap that because we both have the same fps on our guns your at a disadvantage because its bigger than my mp5 but he remained adament he could out shoot everyone yet he was the one with all the cuuts etc

30-6
A woman down our pub was telling me last week that her husband while out jogging was shot up the *rse, apparently some local yobs were driving around the country lanes shooting joggers and cyclists. WRONG - but very funny Lycra is a marvellous material as a pain buffer

WRONG - but very funny Lycra is a marvellous material as a pain buffer A few of the sixform lads I went to school with decided to get the 14 yr old chav's from the local rough school. So they got in 2 cars and had those silly battery powered automatic bb guns and did drive bys on them! Was very wrong and irresponsible, but I must admit again quite funny lol. The chavs tried chasing the cars on BMX's which made me laugh more really. Which does prove the case that strick BB gun laws regarding age and crime were a good call, as these lads could have easily taken someone's eye out which would not have been funny regardless of them being chav's. Personally, I believe they should have suffered some form of punishment just down to the dangerous behaviour.

stevethevanman
The head is not the worst, feel the pain when you get hit in the fingers at close range.
Wookie
I used to play a lot of paintball back in 2000-2002. Went to quite a few tournaments too, including the 7 Man World Cup in Toulouse in 2001 (we came 8th in Novice). It's bloody expensive when you get to that level as you have to factor in entry fees, hotels, flights etc all before you pay for the paint. At one point I had three markers... The tourney gun: Heavily modified Bushmaster 2000 (about 13 balls a second in semi-auto), a modified Shocker (brick with a handle on it. Heavy, but accurate) and the even more heavily modified Minicocker. I forget how much I spent on them all, but when I moved jobs, I couldn't play any more and I had to sell up. I still have a lot of my kit in the loft, but the markers went. To tell you the truth, I regret selling the Cocker. I loved that marker and it had had so much work done to it. It looked normal, but that badboy could put paintballs on top of each other at 30m and could stick out 9 balls a second all day (or as long as you fed it paint). Still, it's a young man's game and now I'm 33, I'm getting past it!

Wookie
Naaah! The Bush2k did 13 and, when I did some work on the trigger, it was so short and so light, that the recoil would set it off on effectively full auto at that speed. It put out so much paint, that the hopper couldn't keep up and I used to chop paint because the feed would run out. The Mag RT used to have a setup that, if you set it up properly with the right sort of feed system, would do 25 a second, but you needed either full outo or a very fast trigger to hit that. Poacher
Its great fun only been a couple of times, and the stories from them are brilliant There was a kid who got shot in his face visor at close range and the little holes managed to split the paint ball into little smithereens and cut his mouth area pretty badly There was another time when me and another chap from the other team litteraly bumped into each other, he spotted me first and in a true james bond moment pull the trigger, but his gun jammed needless to say i chased him out of the county shooting him in the **** as i went
Wookie
Ah yes, I remember times like that... Like the time I got shot in the spuds. That stung a bit. Getting hit in the mask is the best way though. No pain, no bruises. The only problem is walking back to the staging area not being able to see! I remember one time I played a reac game and spent the whole time walking round in camo trousers and a white t-shirt. Barely shot a thing, but shouted at people to attack. Didn't get shot, but felt a lot like Col. Kilgore in Apocalypse Now when they were on the beach. Made my day that. Dammit, I might have to go and play soon. This has made me want to dust off my old JT visor and pot pack and shoot someone!
